Gripping my chest is the only way to hold myself together or what’s left of me will fall out. The past week has enlightened me on one thing-I don’t care.
Megan, Mobster’s Girl

I didn’t even hesitate. I took two strides and blasted him in the face with my fist. He was ready for it this time-unlike in church. He tried to hit me back

I really tried with this one, because it has so many really good reviews. Only one mentions "minor" editing problems. Minor? Are you kidding me?

EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that this book has been re-edited. So I am going to stop reading now, and wait til I get the "edited" version. Although it seriously pisses me off that once again, paying customers are being used as free editing for authors who can't be bothered or don't want to pay a real editor.

I really, really, really liked this story!
I loved Antonio and Megan! Ok I really LOOOVED Antonio! He's mob boss's son, and he's so hot and bad and so deliciously alpha male! He is crazy about sweet and innocent Megan (kinda Travis from BD crazy), the only girl he's forbidden to touch. I was beaming when they were together, they were so perfect for each other. I also loved the mafia element, although I sometimes had this feeling that I'm watching L.DiCaprio and C.Danes in "Romeo & Juliet" but
5-Mobster-stars .

I’m totally and completely in love with this story and Antonio obviously.

Eighteen year old Antonio Delisi Jr. is Mob boss’s son. After turning eighteen, he’s got to understand his responsibility to his father's business. He's supposed to

I finished Mobster's Girl last night... It was so difficult to put it down, honestly. I had to because it was Father's Day and I felt like my dad and husband probably needed my nose OUT OF a book for a little while, but it was painful for me... In spite of having to forcibly put it down for hours yesterday (which about killed me), I still ended up reading the whole book in one day, reading late into the night. At any rate, while I don't normally read YA or mobster-type stories, I really loved it ...more

Mobster's Girl by Amy Rachiele

So this is the first book I’ve read by Amy Rachiele, her writing was easy to read, plot and character development was well written, and the story flowed really well. I picked up this book this afternoon and finished it in one sitting with a few cups of coffee.

Mobster’s Girl is about a young woman name Megan who all the sudden notices Antonio is looking at her. Antonio is tall dark and handsome and a bit dangerous young, he is also from a very well off and powerful

A few weeks ago I saw a review for this book and knew I needed to read this book. So, when I saw that the author was offering the second book, I jumped at the possibility. I have the second book, but since its a continuation of the first, I had to read the first before.

Yesterday I was at work for 12 hours, and was exhausted. I figured I would start this book and fall asleep a few pages through. Nope, that didn't happen. Three hours later, I was still awake and completely finished it. I could not

This is a young adult story that I would recommend to a mature audience. This story contains a blend of a mob feel from a younger generation. Antonio, is following in his father's footstep as his father is a mob boss. Antonio is a regular teen, depending on the day of the week and what jobs he is running for his father. As young as Antonio is, he is feared by his fellow teenagers and classmates. The one person, he doesn't w

This book was recommended by a friend and since it was free I thought I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did.
I really enjoyed this and after just a few pages I was hooked. Antonio is son of the Palmetto, New Jersey mob boss, he's eighteen and has been training his whole life to eventually take over from his father.
He has a nice car, plenty of money and his life is pretty good considering but he and his friends have been given one rule 'stay away from Megan O'Neill'

I really enjoyed this book. I only wish it had been a bit longer. It seemed that just when things started getting exciting, there was the end. Although the characters might be a bit cliché (shy, pretty 'good girl' versus handsome 'bad boy'), it works for the story. I love Megan and Antonio and the circumstances surrounding their relationship. They've known of each other their entire lives but have been kept at a distance.

This is a classic story of star-crossed lovers, which I immensely enjoyed.

Just my thoughts...

I loved Tonio, the hero. Why? Cos he is gorgeous and talented and flat out top dog alpha male, he's the mob boss's son (in EVERY sense of the word!! be warned!) They call him lady-killer for a reason - although he isnt a man-ho, he makes smoking look sexyyyyyy, he is fixated on Megan, the heroine, the only gentling influence in his life. (He reminds me so much of Travis from Beautiful Disaster)

Lotsa lustful thoughts but no explicit scenes. The violence though, is typical of my

Mobster’s Girl is a YA Romance written by Amy Rachiele. I read this as a R2R with We YA Books! As always, a special thank you to the mods and author for allowing me to participate.

I liked this book. It was a sweet story about two opposites coming together only to find out they aren't so different after all. I really liked both Megan and Antonio. Megan was sweet and shy but also stern and formidable. Antonio was the quintessential mobste
There was something so compelling about this book but I can't for the life of me say what it was.
It wasn't the best written, I was confused at times as to what time era it was supposed to be set in as some things that happened & were said seemed like the book was set in the 30/40's but then the H says something that reminds you that you are firmly planted in the now.
I read the book in one sitting as it is quite short but even at that it was late and I had to get up for work early the next mo

I would like to thank the author for giving me this book for an honest review. That being said: I loved it!! I wasn't too sure what I would think or feel, but as soon as I started I couldn't put it down.

This story is about Megan and Antonio. They both live in Jersey and have been told they are off limits to each other since they were kids. But secretly, they have had crushes on each other forever. The beginning felt a little like Romeo and Juliet. They are now 18, and Antonio is having a hard ti

I picked this one up on a whim and couldn't put it down! Despite a few flaws (i.e. minor editing errors and a predictable (for me at least) plot reveal), Mobster's Girl might very well be up there with my fav 2012 reads. I'm floored!! The characters were amazingly drawn out...the main characters as well as the secondary. The storyline switches POV between the two main characters, Megan and Tonio...and the voice of each character is spot on. I'm not usually one to appreciate inner monologue,

First I must say from the cover I had no idea this was a young adult read. In fact if I would have known I would have probably read the book sooner rather than later. The cover does tell some of the story but I think it pushes readers away thinking they already know this particular story. Antonio is supposed to be 18 and the character on the cover looks 30!
The characters and romance are young the backstory pretty adult. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and its ability to entertain me. The

I enjoyed the fact that it was written in both perspectives of the main characters it helps you to get a feel for them. I loved all the characters in this book even the secondary ones.

I enjoyed following Megan and Antonio's love story. It was a sweet story as these characters were made for each other and they had such chemistry.

A good little mob romance for the YA crowd. This is a serial, which is not my favorite format in general and I don't think I mustered quite enough interest to pursue the following installments. However, I liked the characters and the plot that the author came up with, successfully mixing The Sopranos with a teenage sitcom. What I didn't like so much was phonetically spelling the Jersey accented expressions and slang. I think it was a bit over the top and a caricature. But overall the audience it ...more

Other then the slight cliffhanger it was a damn good book. Antonio and Megan are like star crossed lovers since they were 5-6 years old. Now 12 years later the need to be together is over powering and Tino will do anything to be with Megan no matter what their parents think. When they do get together they find a peace and love with each other they never experienced before, until the truth comes out to both of them about what teach family is hiding. I kind of liked it.

This book felt more like a prelude of the actual story more than anything.

Things were a little rushed, seeing as some of them were left to be truly answered in the next book.

I think that their relationship devoloped too fast... One minute she was scared shitless of him, and in the next, she loved him. I was like: "Whaaaaat?".

I couldn't really have a conection with the story, but I saw this book's potential. It has great characters and a very nice, original plot.

4.5 stars WOW, great bk. Thanks to MelissaB over on Amazon for this rec. Antonio is intense! Jealous, possesive, protective - but what else to expect...he's the son of a mobster. A big WHOA moment too that was totally unexpected. Nice drama/suspense element. Only negative is that the story continues. Not really a cliff hanger ending but enough that left me anxious for the next one - Awakening the Mobster. Can't wait!

I absolutely love this book. I love how mature the characters are and the sexiness between Antonio and Megan. I had always wanted a book with young adults in which the characters are not PG/PG13, we all know that kids nowadays are more R-rated than adults. This book was refreshing and keep your attention. I think the ending was kinda rush but there is a bk 2 so I did not mind as much. Thank you Ms. Rachiele for the wonderful story, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

The "Girl" in the title should have tipped me off. The MCs are seniors in high school. Not my genre. While the story was good, I'm not buying the mobster storyline of an 18 year old boy. Not continuing the series.

The writing was not great, but I feel in love with the characters and the story. Some of the verbiage annoyed me, but I did not want to stop reading. The minute I finished book 1, I bought book 2.

It is rare for me to find a decent heroine anymore. So reading about a girl that is not spoiled or that does not sleep around is a breath of fresh. The hero gets a lot of attention but there is no mention of him being a man-whore.

The hero and heroine met when they were 5 years old. They do not speak ag
