I love finding a perfect gem like this whilst browsing the library shelves. I'd never heard of this book. Thought I'd never heard of the author, although it turns out I'd read one of her other books, When Elephants Lived in the Sea, which I'd also enjoyed. But this one, this is fantastic. Wonderful, odd, meandering verse about an incorrigible young girl who has a drive from birth to stand on her hand. She will not be corrected, she will not allow her nature to be changed. This is book was fun to read. Great kids book. I would call it a nonsence story, I really liked it, it is fun to have a break and read this sort of book. Also great pictures.
