I was really excited to read Pretty Sacrifices, the second book in The Legend of Glory Trilogy. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Glory, (You can check out my review here ) so I was expecting the same with Pretty Sacrifices and I wasn't disappointed. I couldn't put it down!

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Glory, (You can check out my review here ) so I was expecting the same with Pretty Sacrifices and I wasn't disappointed. I couldn't put it down!

In Pretty Sacrifices what is left of the worlds population is trying to rebuilt their lives after the pan-plague killed billions. Glory is trying to settle in back home after saving the world and is starting her senior year of high school. Along with this she is coping as best she can with the loss of her father and the whole saga of the pan-plague. Her mum is a shell of herself as she blames her self for the pan plague, as the pharmaceutical company she worked for created the virus that killed billions of people. Glory is a strong character and she is thinking forward to the future, being strong for her mum. However not everything is as straight forward. Demoness Nyx and her sidekick Micah arrive in her hometown of Union and are out to destroy Glory's family and friends as much as she can. Glory soon realises that the pan plague was just the start of things to come.

The story is told though two characters. Glory in Union who is trying to deal with Nyx and Micah with the help of hunky Angel Nicky who has returned with his angel family, Sasha and Rebekah. And Witch Kaia at the Moonstone Coven who is coming to terms with a premonition from her friend Rory which will change her life forever. Glory and Kaia's lives intertwine again and what we learn takes the story in an amazing and unexpected direction.

There was some great new characters in Pretty Sacrifices one of which has to have a special mention as the most cutest character ever, Belle Starr. I can't wait to see where her character goes in the next book.

The love story between Nicky and Glory is so beautiful, I love Nicky! However vampire Zane is still a problem in the growing love of Nicky and Glory as Glory loves them both, but eventually she is going to have to decide and I hope she picks Nicky.

Overall Pretty Sacrifices was an epic read and many sacrifices where made which has changed the lives of many characters. The characters where great, the good and the bad, the writing and flow of the story is prefect and has great twists and turns that kept me hooked. If you haven't checked out the series yet, I highly recommend you do. I can't wait for the last book in the trilogy Genesis!(less)

This book bent time and broke my heart while at the same time gave us some amazing looks at how some of the characters came to be the way they were. We get to see one of my favorite characters once again Jinx and her goth girls in both the past and present day. Instead of just being a paranormal romacy-action book this time Pretty Sacrifices took on a very Sci-Fi feel making you question whether or not time is a straight line.

Dominic the hot romantic angel we know and love returns in this book to win Glory’s heart and offer her protection you get to see a side of him in this story that was hidden in the other book, his loving side that would honestly do anything to make Glory happy. Zane the other competitor for Glory’s heart is back as well but not as the vampire we know and love but as a man from the past as we get a chance to explore his relationship with the woman Glory is connected to the mysterious and gorgeous Hope-Zane’s long since dead wife. Both men end up winning you’re heart its really hard to pick a side, which means whomever she ends up with you will be cheering in the end.

We are introduced to a sweet little girl Belle Starr and we get to see Glory be a mother and not just a hero, overall this book blew my mind. I was clinging to every page and couldn't put it down. This book re-defines a page turner for me I couldn’t even begin to think about anything else I found myself contemplating this book even when I was at work and like with the first book Glory I am sure I will be thinking about this book until the third installment comes out. I'm the author, so of course I love it. :-) I do honestly think it's my best book yet. This one took on a life of its own as I was writing it, and I've never had that happen before. I hope others enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Pretty Sacrifices was a good follow up to Glory. I think the story line was a little bit stronger in the first book, Glory, but its sequel was still entertaining. Glory leaves us with a cure for the crazy pandemic that was sweeping the nation but Pretty Sacrifices is not the happy go lucky story you might imagine. We are left with a pretty bleak aftermath, and people are just trying to get by.

The sequel to Glory and... Wow! Devin O'Branagan did it again! Vampires, angels (good and fallen), witches (good and bad), great dog and puppy from hell... Plus... time travel and quantum entanglement...
Believe me, reading this book is like being on a roller-coaster! Page after page, you find yourself asking: what's going to happen next? And when you close the book, you're happy to learn that, yes, there's another book coming up.
Great characters, great story, well done, Devin!

One of Devin's best and she is a great storyteller. This story is a real page turner and the characters are fantastic. I really am excited by the levels at which it can be read for pure enjoyment or for those deep meanings. I can hardly wait for the next one in the series.
