The Temescal farmers' market had a flyer from a community production of "Medea" that showed two children in togas, arms over each others' shoulders, both grinning hugely at the camera. Walking by, I thought, "Wait a second - isn't that the play where she kills her kids?" It is. Better than that, she uses them as unwitting accomplices to assassinate her rival. Take that, Our Town!

Medea. Trojan Women. Doesn't get more activist, more skilled, more lasting than this.
Euripides, will you marry me? No, wait. Only if you come here.
Moses Hadas' preface/introduction is genius, too.
