Nicely chosen illustrations illustrate the story of the birth of Christ, his life and teachings, as quoted from the King James version as told in Matthew and Luke. The readings are in order of chronology of the life, not strictly in Bible order. Several illustrations by editor Catherine Schuon are among the most interesting. There are also several from Fra Angelico of the 15th century.

wanted to love A King James Christmas edited by Catherine Schuon & Michael Oren Fitzgerald. The King James version of the Bible is a little old-fashioned and can be tough to understand, but I love the poetry and the traditional verses, like in Luke, chapter 2.

Brilliant project! Brilliant!

In this book, which, though it has a child-like appeal, is for all mankind, is compiled of Biblical text from the King James bible to give a linear view of the birth, known early life and the Sermon on the Mount, where the Lord's prayer was first spoken, without having to flip from chapter to chapter in your Bible.

I cannot wait to use this book to read to my some-day children.

This is a book you need in person, in your hands. As in not electronically. A new tradition at our house on Christmas and the original illustrations are lovely. Reading the "Christmas Story" from the various related selections all together made a great reading of a great story.

Be ready to purchase this one for Christmas gifts. Beautifully illustrated and easy for young ones to listen to. Sections will make a good read-a-loud at Christmas time.

Even though I can't share this book with the kids during story time, I'm happy to add it to my library's collection. A great telling of Jesus Christ's life.

Beautifully illustrated and having the scriptures to tell the story has an impacting way of getting the story across.
