I was so confused by the aliens and their small town that I got lost in the "action" sequences. I was so fed up that stopped reading this book altogether; the last straw for me? There was a sequence involving the heroine's mother became ill; too much time was spent on the sequence and the character explaining to her lover that her mother was white with a fierce mothering instinct; as if race plays a part in that. Lawke and Kee ... Basically ... Khayden needs to be 'unlocked' to reach his full potential and make sure his people flourish. Until he is unlocked, his people are kind of dull and grim looking despite smiling and being friendly. The way it was explained in the book is it seemed like their 'colors were muted.' One thing I loved about the book was that everyone was racially ambiguous. Well not so much ambiguous but completely screwed up. A natural

I read this book and loved it! Khayden is the Lawke and Alayna is his Kee and boy does she open his lock ! The book is a little slow in the beginning because it is the start of a series and explains the people of Lawkharven ,but is needed so you will understand the story. This is a wonderful love story Alanya his given up on love until she meets Khayden he wins her heart and so much more . You have to read this story you will not be disappointed.

It was OK I think the author focused to much on the struggle between good and evil and not enough on the romance. It was OK

"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!

Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various
