To be honest I was a little confused with the title of this book. I expected some kind of fantasy thriller where people in a fringe group engaged in a battle against the government. What I got was actually something much more interesting.

The “Last Degree started off interestingly enough with a Bible quote (2 Chronicles 2:13-14). This should have been my first clue but I still didn’t get it. It wasn’t until I got a few pages in that I saw what the book was about. The Last Degree is a story that m...more

Review of The Last Degree by Dina Rae

5 stars

A complicated murder/terrorism/secret society mystery bouncing back and forth between time periods, “The Last Degree” also includes elements of romance and love; political stances and affiliations; and a plethora of “behind the scenes” kingmaking, queenmaking, and juggling of governments and economies. The novel doesn’t blink at violence, either, whether on the individual scale or on the mass scale. Much of the covert activity is due to the higher coun...more

The Last Degree took me by surprise. I am a history buff and I have heard a lot of stories about the Freemasons and how the rule the world. Well after reading this book I thought that the rumors just might be true. I want to give FMB Blog Tours a huge thank you for allowing me to be a part of this tour.

In The Last Degree The Freemasons are trying to take over the world. There are secrets they hold and will do anything to rule this world. This book has so many twists and turns in it. It was hard...more

Thought Provoking & Entertaining!

Once again Dina Rae takes us on a journey starting with a murder mystery that leads into ties with the Scottish Rite Freemason’s promoting the New World Order ideology. With the combined theories from the secret societies such Military cartels determined to stop the New World Order, Religious Fanatics who hang on Revelations theory about the “Shinning One” or as most Christians belief of the Anti-Christ and the end of time second coming teachings along with t...more

I know, I know, after reading that synopsis you’re probably thinking, Nova, are you crazy!? (I’m not going to answer that by the way!) Yet another book that is focused on politics! Look at that synopsis! Politics AND religion!

But wait guys, I read this because it sounded interesting. Plus the cover just makes you curious, right? Right! So I decided why not? Worst case scenario I don’t like it. Best case, I love it! Well guess what!? Yet again my instincts won out! This book, although completely...more

I received a copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review.

This book is a conspiracy theorists dream! It certainly got me thinking about certain past events, and what the future holds!

There are too many points of view from different characters in this book to do a character breakdown, so I will refrain in this instance.

This story begins in 2000 and jumps between the years 1964 and 2012. It is told in a "past, present and future" style that I found slightly disconcerting. There a...more

Ahh. Where to start?? This book is definitely something else, that's for sure. This book not only jumps from different POV's but also from different times, so you get a kind of whiplash jumping from the past, to the present, to deeper into the past and then back to the present. It's quite tiresome. To get down to the point, this book delves into conspiracy theories, free masonry, the Illuminati and religion. I for one don't care much for conspiracy theories and would rather not buy into that st...more

This story was woven. Woven loosely at first and I had no idea how this was all going to go down but in the end, it had me thinking. The pieces all fell into place and by the end of the book, the pages flew by and the players fell into place and I was felt thinking. Really? Could this happen if all the pieces fell into place? We’re talking about world domination and we’re not talking about robots or aliens, we’re talking about an elite set of individuals who put their playing pieces all in a row...more
Apocalyptic Fiction
In her book The Last Degree, Dina Rae gives us a fascinating, sometimes frightening glimpse into the inner workings of the secret societies and their evil apocalyptic conspiracy. This is a very enjoyable book. Normally, I do most of my reading at night, but I’ll admit parts of this book were read in the daytime as the occult and satanic subject matter was keeping me awake. The Last Degree refers to the highest level of achievement in Freemasonry. As it turns out, at least according to the author...more

I'm a great fan of conspiracy theory stories, as they marry the best elements of fact, fiction and myth. The Last Degree did all of those things and then some. There is more myth brought to life in The Last Degree, and it's an element I enjoyed. The Masons have long been a favorite secret society of mine, and the author brings their mystery to the page with some religious interpretation that works really well. The history is well-researched and the pacing keeps you engaged.

There are many compari...more

The Last Degree is an intriguing conspiracy theory novel filled with an intricate agenda by the Freemasons to gain control and dominate the world in order to create a one global government. The storyline focuses on the conspiracy of the Freemasons, and their attempt at a global takeover by any means necessary to attain their goal ... New World Order.

The author weaves a fascinating tale rich with descriptions of the secret societies and attention to detail backed with historical research and docu...more

I don't usually read these types of books, but I am glad that I read this one! It was full of twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book.

While this is a work of fiction, you can just imagine some of the events happening in real life. Especially with the 'preppers' because there are shows that have proven they're out there!!

I really liked how completely chaotic (in a good day) this story could get. I loved the conspiracy theories and all the different POVs that are repres...more

I was given a PDF of this book for purpose of honest review by the author. I was not compensated for the review, and it is honestly given and all words are my responsibility.

I will say that if you are a fan of conspiracy theories, and enjoyed Dan Brown, you most certainly will appreciate this book. The author has gone into great detail to research the history of secret societies and the lore that fuels their mystique. This story focuses on the acts of two main groups, the Preppers (or Prepared...more

This book was not at all what I was expecting when I started. I was expecting your typical conspiracy theory story that tells you the world is doomed and its time to prepare. What I got instead was a very detailed story about how ancient prophecies and modern happenings are coming together to symbolize the end of the world as we know it and the coming of a New World Order.

The author spent a lot of time coming up with the conspiracy. And it shows in the details. This helps overcome the couple of...more

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a copy of The Last Degree from the author for a review via Full Moon Bites.

The Last Degree is about the Freemasons, the Illuminati and other secret societies wanting to take over the world. It is written in different POV's which is good I think because you get to know what each character is thinking and feeling. They will do whatever it takes to rule the world. Whatever it takes means murder, blackmail, embezzlement ect...

*SPOILER ALERT* *DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS*

Conspiracy buffs awaiting the next Dan Brown novel can stop holding their breath, Dina Rae has provided what you need in The Last Degree.

This book follows an extremely intricate plot full of agendas and struggles for world domination. Dina Rae has woven conspiracy theories together so well that are so realistic, it is almost scary. You will close this book and wonder - could this really happen?

Rae explores secret socities, destiny, and a master minded plan to take over the world, and writes it all in a manner within which a layman can understand. What impressed me the most about the writing of this book was the attention to detail with historic facts and documents. The research alone to write this book must have taken hundred...more

Enjoyed this book a bit, but it wasn't really the book for me, the Mason's weren't really good people, but yeah, it was a good book!

The Last Degree (Paperback)
Dina Rae is a new author that is here to stay. As a former teacher, she brings an academic element to her work. Her research on the Yezidi religion and love of art inspired her story telling for Halo of the Damned.
Her second novel, The Last Degree, is a fictionalized account of the Freemason’s role in the New World Order. Dina's grandfather was the Most Worshipful of his lodge. The subject has al...more
