3.5*s From character building to career building, Lanigan covers the gamut of writing the romance novel. The book is a little shallow, thus the 3 1/2*s, but there are some good points made. I particularly liked the section on creating an outline. I would read On Writing Romance: How to Craft a Novel That Sells first, and then this book in addition if you have the time and money.

this book has been really helpful in discovering how to write a romance story. It has great ideas and techniques for those who are wanting to break into the scene. However, it is also good for those authors who think they understand the system and yet can't get their foot in the door. I enjoyed reading this book.
