I love this book! It far surpassed my expectations. As a reference tool, it delivers. As a narrative, it delivers. Junior Stock: Drag Racing the Family Sedan packs in the photos, offering oodles of visual appeal. I found the chronological organization easy to follow and pleasant to read. This book will appeal to all ages (10+) and has something for everyone. I highly recommend it for all school and public libraries...and for homes with racing fans and/or automobile enthusias

What wonderful memories this book contains! A thorough history of the Junior Stock drag racing scene from 1964-1971, when it was still possible for someone to compete as a 'hobby' on a limited budget. Enough details and statistics to please the most fervent fan, and biographies of many of the key players from that time period. The ubiquitous '57 Chevy is featured, of course, but the book is chock-full of pictures of all the great stock cars of the '60s. Put on your favorite Beach Boys' cd and ...more
