Overall, I enjoyed this book. However, the first chapter was a little rough, as it was a scene that belonged somewhere in the middle of the book. In fact, I feel like the author actually wrote it as a later scene and decided to move it so he could start off with a bang (quite literally, even). There were references to people and things that didn't make sense to me at the time--things I stored away in my mind to decipher later. So, it was a little hard to get into, an a little choppy sometimes af...more

You know that series you become unduly obsessed with when your young? They're usually books no one else have heard of. They aren't available at the library. But you love them with the fiery passion of a cult leader, and you spend the next three months of sixth grade fruitlessly trying o get others to read these books.

The was the Spy High series for me. They're young adult books that are accessible to children as young as fourth grade but are interesting enough for Freshmen to read. The character...more

I enjoyed the story of this book but sometimes it was really confusing to read and it was hard to follow what was going on.
This book the story of six teenage spies, Jake, Ben, Eddie, Cally, Jennifer, and Lori. In order to graduate from the academy, the spies need to complete, and pass a computerized test. If Bond team fails one more time then they are kicked out of the academy, and minds are erased! The Team has failed two of these tests, due to lack of team cooperation so the Head Master sends...more

You would think teenage spies are only in movies, but for the kids on the Bond Team at Spy High, it's their reality. Spy High is a secret school dedicated to the training of teenagers to become top spies. And when one unit of the academy, the Bond Team are sent their first mission, they are thrown into a world that they realize they weren't ready for...

As a child I was obsessed with spies and secret agents, when I found this book it only fueled my inner child. I saw this book and knew I had to read it. Prior to reading it I assumed it would be a bunch of kids who are connected by one evil guy who must come together to rescue someone or something.

It wasn't everything I expected but it met my desire for the action secret agent type of book. The characters have real personality and you can see the way they have some normal teenage attributes. Th...more

Because all the negative reviews this book has, I was a bit skeptical. This book is good but has some major flaws. I give it 3 and a half.

First of all, its good to have a fast paced story, but this was a little much. The story line was really fast but skipped out on a lot of important things. The author did a terrible job of making sense of why and how these people jon Spy High. It was as if they just get into the school and go sent camping.

In the end, the story was interesting the setting in...more

Six teenagers get selected to go to Devereaux Academy, affectionately known by those who attend as Sky High. They're put in a group to fight together: Ben, Jake, Eddie, Cally, Lori, and Jennifer. But they don't get along. The theme of this book is the problems of working together with so many with such different backgrounds. Finally, after two failures at the Stromfeld test, they're sent out into the wilderness, where people have been disappearing, and they face a real megalomaniac.

A great book,...more

This book was at times very interesting, but mostly it was slow and boring and I pretty much hated it. I looked at the cover and said, "Hmmm... maybe I'll give it a try." Now I'm kind of wishing I hadn't. I don't know whether it was the mutations that happened or how the story had an introduction lasting all the way to the middle of the book.
I would not recommend this to anyone, unless you like hearing about a madman who mutates human beings into weird creatures and enjoy strange occurrences tha...more

I'd have to say Spy High was an enjoyable book. It was interesting how this took place in the future, so there was a lot of technology made up that we wouldn't have heard of (such as sky bikes -- I definitely would like one). Though the six main characters were pretty distinguishable, I don't think it was necessary to have so many to be focused on. Also, it would probably been more enjoyable had the story just started from when they entered the school, rather than in media res. In addition, they...more

I really loved this book. I loved all the romances, especially Callys crush on Jake, but I was dissapointed when Eddie and Callys small fling led to nothing because I thought they would go very well together. I loved the sarcm used and I loved the uniqueness of all the characters, especially Lori as she was a queen bee type but showed kindness. This book really made me want to become a spy. I loved the futuristic feel to the book and all the cool inventions included. Overall, a very good read!

Let's start with ...
Ben Stanton
He is a dick, plain and simple. I'm not even going to list any good stuff about him because it doesn't exist.

Lori Angel
Airhead?
She kind of gave that aura.
Flat?
Very
Like a little puppy, when Ben asks her to jump, she asks how high.
Pathetic.
I kind of feel bad for her

Jake Freaking Daly
Omg, I can't ugh
Goodness. And the 'rivalry' between Ben and Jake? whtvs
But I kind of pictured him as bamofo

Cally
She's actually pretty decent

Eddie
Stupid
He's not even funny

If I could give this book zero stars I would. I couldn't even finish reading it, which is saying a lot for me. I read anything. I just go so bored I couldn't keep going. I felt like I was walking in Molasses trying to get to the point of the book. It was fairly cliche and the writing at some parts was just annoying. But to each his own, some people may like it, but I wouldn't dust a spot on my shelf for this book.

Okay, so this is a fantastic book! I read it years ago, but I still think it is amazing! It's a great series! Although, I read five of the books, but didn't get to read the last one, because it was out of print in America, seriously, I know. I highly recommend reading these books, but please guarentee that you will have the last book. Anyway, it is a fantastic series! Read it!

Some may say this book is pretty childish, and I do admit it, but I also think it is also a nice book because it involves sophisticated technology and modern fantasy, both themes I like a lot. With thrilling adventures and stuff, I think it was worth the time I took to read it.

This book is about a group of 6 spies to be who are two stricks down in not passing their first term at Spy High. They are given one last chance but this time there won't be anyone to stop the game if they fail.

I liked this book but it was a little boring at times.

Pretty good spy book. I found it a little tough at the beginning, but it gradually got better. Cheesy ending though. I thought it didn't take much to bring together Jake + Ben even though they're polar opposites. Kinda a let down, but I'm about to read the next book.

I bought this book a few years ago, wondering if it would be appropriate for my children who are going through a "spy" stage in their play and reading. Sadly, the answer is, "no."

The writing itself is very typical YA fare -- nothing outstanding, nothing too deep or difficult, but it doesn't talk "down" to an average reader either.

However, the book suffers from a lack of focus for its intended audience. The relationships, the blood and gore, death, age of the main characters, etc., speak to a hig...more

I LOVE SPY BOOKS and this book is definitely a spy book!
good message about putting aside differences (and better yet, learning from each other's differences) and cooperating and working together to do something amazing! =D

Started reading the Series with Carl. He, of course, picked up the 2nd book in the series first. Not a bad read. Its a good read for teenagers to learn they can overcome their past and move on to better things.

I have decided to try and read a fraction of the books that Spencer enjoys. Plus, teen fiction is generally fun and fast reading. This is one that caught Spencer's attention and now I am enjoying the series as well.

Really fun sci-fi adventure that is a quick read. I like the humor, and that the spy stuff isn't too easy. I first read this series when I was about thirteen or fourteen, and it was fun to just lose myself in the story. It was nice to just have something easy to read.
G Truog
Not as good as I had hoped, but it was a good and quick read. Much more fantasy than I expected, there are some really strange parts -- half human-half animal, mad scientist, etc.
Lady Entropy
High Spy é uma horrível tentativa de conseguir uma história para teens com espiões à la Alex Ryder e falhando miseravelmente, com personagens detestáveis e chatas.

ive been thinking...maybe i have a thing for teenage spy books...whatever. maybe its my internal goal to become a spy one day...woot!
