I adored Witch Way Bends (Book 1 in the Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy) and I always worry a little that the rest of the trilogy just won't match up quite as well. As much as I liked the first one, I love the second book (Bitten Shame) even more!! I will warn you that this book jumps back and forth from the present and the past- something that normally I can't handle. I get bored/distracted and boom I'm gone.. I don't have the attention span to fo...more

Today's review is on Bitten Shame by Olivia Hardin

Though this second installment had all of the characters we fell in love with, and those we fell in hate with, in book 1, this one focused more on the past and present life of Jill Prescott. In this book we learn how she fell in love, became a vampire, and how she lost the will to live without the one man who changed her life forever.

As the chapters flip from the past to the present, the reader is able to watch the love between Jill and "Doc" dev...more

I loved this book I read it in only a few hours and I am just crazy about this series! I can't wait for the next on in the series! I enjoyed that instead of being told from the narrative of Devan it was Jill. I thought Jill was such a great character from Witch Way Bends. From the whole book my favorite parts were definitely her past with Doc. I didn't I would enjoy a love story more than Kent and Devan but Olivia topped it with Jill and Doc.

For me there isn't much to say I just absolutely love...more

Only a short time ago, I read Witch Way Bends, the first book in this series. I actually thought the series would be focused on Devan all the way through, so I was pleasantly surprised that this story focused on Jill, Devan's best friend from college, now turned vampire. Jill had disappeared from Dean's life in college when Devan had started figuring out that her father's business dealt with trafficking children and that her boyfriend Robbie was in on it. Her mysterious disappearance led Devan t...more

Jill is a vampire, struggling with loneliness, heartbreak and regret. I dig it. The struggles, I mean. I can only imagine the vampire problems, but the other stuff, yeah, check. And then there's the whole sadness about...well, I won't give it away, but it broke my heart to know the regret she lived with. So much regret that she wasn't sure life -such as it is- was worth struggling with, anymore. And in the midst of all this, I admire how she loves – with all her might, even when she’s angry. And...more

Great follow up novel to the first in the series - Witch Way Bends. That is where we first meet Jill. Jill was a friend of Devan's back in college. It was during that period that Jill took a job recommended by a friend that led to her meeting Doc.

We spend the novel in the present, which continues where the previous book ended. And in the past, where Jill met Doc and how she became a vampire. This is done in alternating chapters which are really well put together. You can see how the events that...more

This book reads so different from the first. Bitten Shame focuses more on Jill's story . It shifts back and forth from past to present. Telling the story of how Jill was changed, her life with Doc as a Vampire and her loss when he died.

Devan is on a mission to do the things Meggie told her in book 1. She seeks out her mothers trunk and she goes to the fairy realm to meet her father. The women on the hill want to see them, so they make the long distance trek to find them the assistance of Roon a...more

Bitten Shame Book 2 Of the Bend-Bite Trilogy
By Olivia Harden

I have to say I loved book 2 more than book one. And I just absolutely loved book one. I recommend both books to everyone. The way Olivia is able to bring her characters to life and make you either love the or hate some of them. The book is set on a fast pace where she just draws you into the story. Allot of questions were answered for the back storyline of Jill. I am definitely looking forward to more in this storyline...more

Possible spoilers ahead!

quite a good book, i liked the past and present chapters, drawing out the story of Jill's past instead of throwing it at you all at once. i really want to know more about Roon and hope he finds himself a lady to love him, i thought maybe it would happen with Jill but her heart laid with another. I don't know whether i'm happy with the ending but i'm happy that we got a HEA, even if it's the one i didn't want hehe. I can't wait to see what happens with Gerry, she seem's to...more

I read somewhere that some readers find the past-present style of storytelling distracting, not in my case. I actually think it helped with the pacing of the story, instead of one continues line we have alternate chapters of Jill's past and how it affected or altered her present. It helped me got to know Jill better and appreciate her as a character. She's so exuberant and has an openness about her that Doc found truly appealing, Jill reminded him of life and what it feels like...more

Bitten Shame tells us the story of Jill Prescott. Jill is a Vampire who is ready to end her life. She has lost the love of her life and now the darkness is trying to take over. Now she is on a journey to help her super witch friend Devan stop a horrible organization from abusing children.

What is so amazing about this story is the way that it is written. Every other chapter we bounce from the past to the present. At first I hated it but then I started to understand what the author was going for....more

This book was really good! It's exciting and fun. It's the perfect second book it the series. I really like that it switches between past and present with each chapter. You get to learn more about Jill and how she became a vampire while the story continues. I really liked Doc. He was cold and locked up at first but once he got to know Jill (and we got to know him), he ended up being a kind and really caring man. One thing that I really liked was when the past and the present were tied together,...more

I picked Bitten Shame up and could not put it down. I have not read the first book ( Witch Way Bends) but to be honest this did not matter in the slightest. Jill Prescott had gone from being a woman to being turned into a Vampire, She is also totally in love with Doc Massey.

The book goes from past to present throughout the chapters this was not a problem in the least for me as it helped me learn more about Jill’s life, how she became a vampire and about her love for Doc.

This is brilliant and wel...more

This book is completely different from the first book in the series. Not only has the story moved to Jill, Devon’s best friend from college, but the writing style is completely different as each chapter alternates from past to present. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the book written this way, but Olivia Hardin has blown me away again!! I loved every minute of reading it!

In this story we learn more about Jill, what happened to her after she disappeared, when she was living with Devon and...more

I read the first book Witch Way Bends - I absolutely LOVED it. You were introduced to Devan and her crew, including Jill Prescott. In the first book you find out sometime during college Jill was turned into a vampire. It all sounds very dangerous and shady. In Bitten Shame Jill’s true story unfolds and while it was a little dangerous plus a little shady it was also a fantastic love story vampire style. Jill is tricked into being a companion (aka blood donor) for Doc Massey, even he wasn’t aware...more

Bitten Shame is book two in the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy by Olivia Hardin. This book picks up right at the end of the first book, Witch Way Bends. I really enjoyed book one, but I fell in love with book two. Bitten Shame brings you further into the character's stories and you learn more about Jill's past and Devan's future. The story alternates between the past and present throughout the book and just draws you in and makes it impossible to put it down and stop reading.

Firstly, I must say the book cover is exactly how my mind imagined Jill Prescott. The story was well written and I loved the fact that the chapters toggled between the past and present so you could see where Jill was coming from and why she felt emotional turmoil. I was also drawn in from the first page, I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Will Jill finally get her heart’s desire? How will it all turn out?...I guess we’ll have to read book 3 to find out!

Loved it!!! It was the second book within the trilogy and have to say, my favorite so far. I really got into Jill' s character and felt so much on her pain. I also, loved Doc!! Everything about him made me melt...lol!! Definitely loved the ending!! I also enjoyed the back and forth with past and present, it is hard to really make a smooth transition between the two but Hardin did a great job with it!!

My goodness this was a great continuation of the story, and an in depth look into Jill, Devan's best friend. I really enjoyed seeing her as a human, and the relationship that blossomed between her and Doc. It was heat filled, heart touching, and it was sealed with a beautiful HEA that they both deserved.

I look forward to reading the next in the trilogy.

This was a great book, had me crying at the end with happiness that Jill and Doc are back together. Wondering now if the third book will be about Gerry and her finding her sister.
