A seer is a individual who gets visions of the future and according to society is "the devil". But that is just a load of BS feed to the public so an organization call the Guild can go around "collecting" them for their own purpose. And by collecting I mean breaking into homes, murdering the entirety of the house while kidnapping the seer. And Seers are the bad guys? Riiight..

This story centers around a few different set of characters, brother and sister Liam and Lillie, and captured seers Marcu

This was sent to me via Pump Up Your Book Promotion for a honest and fair review. The story starts out with Liam and his sister Lili at a fair. Liam is less than thrilled with this and Lili is deep in thought. What soon follows is enough to make anyone want to run.

A group known as the Guild is out looking for seers a special group of people with the ability to see the future among other things. They are looking everywhere for Lili Knight who is exactly what they need. Liam and Lili go on the run

This book is amazing! It's geared toward young adults but adults will find the storyline engaging and pageturning. The concept that a genetic marker gives some individuals to see the future is powerful. Especially considering the fact that The Guild locates those people and uses them for their own political motives. Lilli is a Seer, and her brother Liam will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. It's the last thing his mom told him before she was murdered.

While on the run, Liam and Lilli run in

258 pages of adventure and mystery wrapped into a science fiction novel that kept me captivated till the last page! I have wanted a brainteaser of a book and this was it for me. It was a journey through the minds of Seers and watching them bloom after being so sheltered due to The Guild, into their own beings while remembering their past and looking forward towards their futures as they reach in and discover the power they are capable of.

All the characters had a place and I was heartbroken at t

Order of the Seers takes place in a world where seers are hunted and shunned. They are hunted by an organization that has spread incorrect propaganda.

The story begins with Lili and Liam. Their life is violently ripped from them when the organization comes from Lili. They are thrown into a truth of terror and running.

The story alternates between members of the organization and seers who escape or are drawn to a remote compound seeking refuge. Their refuge is not complete, as the organization want

A fantastic first novel by Cerece R Murphy. A chilling look at how too much knowledge can corrupt those in power.

Liam and Lilli Knight have been running for their lives since the death of their mother only to finally find a safe haven among others that shy away from society. Marcus and Alessandra were taken captive, their families destroyed, all because they possess an ability that those in power desire, knowledge of the future. They escape with only one focus, to get to people that will help t

My opinion: Ms. Murphy's novel is an excellent example of why I love, not only indie authors, but debut authors so much. This book was fresh, hoppin' and a fun, yet engrossing read. I am new to dystopian novels, but thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Targeted towards the Young Adult audience, in my humble opinion, this is the type of book to introduce them to an exciting genre with characters who are approachable and enough tension, both sexual and politica

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Cerece Murphy in person at Philadelphia Comic Con and decided to purchase her first book directly from her (Order of the Seers) and I could not put it down. Not only is she an amazing person but an absolutely talented author who really gives her readers what they paid for! The way she describes the characters and makes you fall in love or despise each one is absolutely amazing. It definitely keeps you at the edge of your seat and makes you want more. Making thi ...more

I was asked to read and review Order of the Seers and chose to upgrade to audiobook. For some reason, I had it in my head that this was a young adult book; most likely my interpretation of the cover. It’s not. Some of the characters may start off young, but due to their tragic circumstances, they grow up fast.

They story spans over several years, following the lives of several characters. The story is extremely well developed, and has vivid descriptions. I was never lost through the frenetic plot

My rating is an average, between a 3 for construction and a 5 for world-building. This novel does what the best urban fantasy does -- depicts the contemporary world shifted every so slightly. It adds the supernatural to the ordinary and then extends the logic of the existing power structures in a way that is both believable and terrifying. It also does one of those things I love so much: It chews through plot. It doesn't rely on one big reveal for all the narrative impact. Instead, it raises the ...more

For the past sixteen years, the Knight family have effectively been hiding in plain sight. Jill Knight, a widow with a sixteen-year-old son and a thirteen-year-old daughter, has kept the truth about their father's accidental death from them for as long as she could; now, with time running out, they have been discovered and Jill must prepare her children for what they will soon face.

I bought "Order of the Seer" by Cerece Rennie Murphy at the Chicago C2E2 convention. I spoke briefly with the author and the concept intrigued me enough I decided I wanted to read more. The concept of "order" I believe is unique as of right now and was brilliant. In the world Murphy creates there are a collection of individuals who are seers, people who have the ability to see future events. The world's governments, after discovering this, band together as they determine those who know the futur ...more

Liam and Lilith Knight, are brother and sister who are hunted by The Guild. They are an organization that wants to capture and exploit Lilith s ability as a Seer. She is not the first. They have been kidnapping other seer's and using them to build their organization.
Inside the organization though there is a powerful seer named Marcus Akida. With the help of Alessandra they are able to escape and are drawn to a commune Iowa where the siblings are. As the Guild gets closer to finding them, the se

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

*Be aware that this has some sexual acts and foul language*

Cerece Rennie Murphy has created a very intriguing start to her trilogy. I enjoyed this book, the world and the characters. I didn't like how slow paced. Sometimes I felt like it dragged with too much detail, but I realize that it created a well rounded insight into each character, their actions, the world and build up to something greater.

I have never read a book about stories. I may have read books that had seers but not they weren't the major focus. If you don't know what seers are, seers are humans with powers that can see the future in visions. It starts off with a brother and sister, Liam and Lilli, who find their mother dead because The Guild was searching for Lilli who is a seer. Their mother leaves some videos for them, explaining why she never told them about The Guild,

Lets start with what I like about this book. First and foremost it grabbed me from the very beginning. The opening of this book is intense.

Liam and his younger sister Lilli find themselves orphaned and on the run. Lilli is a "seer" meaning she can see the future. The Guild doesn't want the world to know about seers so they have set out to find and eliminate them.

Liam and Lilli are having to constantly move around, and finally find a community where they can stop running for a while. This is whe

Order of Seers had me hooked on the first page Liam and Lilli came home from fishing to find their Mother dead with a big smile on her face. She had outsmarted "the Guild" -an international group that controlled the world via the seers. They came that day for Lilli- a seer. Her Mother was also a seer and when she 'saw' them coming she committed suicide to protect Lilli and Liam leaving them with money and instructions where to go to avoid the Guild which led them to a commune in Iowa. They were sa ...more

“I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion. I was in no way compensated for this review and all opinions are expressly my own”

Reading this book was a refreshing change on the supernatural world and characters with some sort of magical ability. I loved the connection between all the characters. The author wove a web so pristine it was easy to connect each character together, good or bad.

It was an epic tale of dominance, oppression and magic, with sizzling romance

I was contacted by the author about reviewing this book, she sent a sample chapter and after reading it, I was greedy for more. This book just pulls you right in from the word Go. I struggled a little bit with it after the first few chapters because so many new characters were introduced in a relatively short period of time and the narrative perspective changes without warning. However, once I became accustomed to the flow it was a very fast read. There's a good passage of time during the cours ...more

The first book of Order of the Seers had a wow factor that pulled you in out of sheer curiosity to see what the Order actually is. Suspense pulls you in to find out what exactly the Guild is and why and how they enslave the seers. What we loved the most about this book is the development of the characters. The lead into what might come next. A must read, can't wait to see how the series unfolds.

Great blend of sfy, romance, action, and thrills. The plot of the book has enough twists and turns to keep the plot moving forward, but not to the point were the story becomes lost. The characters and the relationships between them never feel forced and progress in a natural way. It's the type of book that will have you reading "just one more page" to see what happens.

4 STARS What an emotional ending to a pulse pounding story! The choppiness in the beginning bothered me for a little while, but I was so intrigued and needed answers that I continued. I found myself longing for Liam to open himself up. I found myself praying for Crane to meet his Karma. I found myself hoping for a future where the Seers could be free. Yeah, this book definitely pulled me in.

Neighborhood book club selection. Author is local and will be in attendance. I am curious about her motivations. But what do I say about this sprawling story that slides all over the place?

Kept my interest with two sympathetic characters but there are lots of others. It's ambitious and violent with a steamy prolonged sex scene. I just kept waiting for it to go somewhere.

Written by a friend's friend. Young adult'ish (though it has an adult "romance" scene). Premise is interesting, but too much feeling exploration, inattention to detail, and hurried plot development for my taste. OK read.

An interesting read, cleaver idea that was well executed. At times it felt a little rushed to add in details, but not enough to effect the my overall opinion of the book!

I was lucky enough to meet the author of this book at AwesomeCon in DC, she talked up her books so well I had to buy the first 2, and now I am looking forward to the release of the third!

She was crazy, stark-raving-mad-fuck-bat-crazy. She kept getting moved from purification site to purification site. Everyone wanted her. No one could handle her.” 3 likes
“[Liam] felt the life, the person he had been, rush past him and out the door as his eyes took in the overturned, splintered remains of their living room. It was a feeling he’d felt only once before, when his father died. But what made it worse…made it permanent, was lying in the middle of the floor, with its contents thrown everywhere. It was his mother’s purse, which had not been there when he left that morning.” 2 likes
