Ok, I have to admit, I am now in love with the French country-side thanks to "Festival of Cherries". This was my first exposure to the writing style of Mandy Baldwin, but it definately won't be my last! She has a wonderful way of not only bringing her characters to life for the reader, but allows us a deep insight into them. I can't wait to share this book with my neighbors. Very strong 4 stars from me!
My rating system is as follows:

5 stars - Excellent, Worth Every Penny, Made It Into My Persona
Hi received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
I do have to admit I rather enjoyed this book. It was a fairly quick read, not a huge tome of a book that takes forever to read and remained interesting throughout the entire book. Mandy Baldwin has done a splendid job in writing this book, even more so because of the shortness of the book. In the small amount of pages Baldwin has created believable characters, shown us their lives and woven a story around the reader.

Another beautifully constructed novel from this new author. Again the story is seen from a variety of perspectives, with details building a complete picture of the community the characters inhabit. Each character has a different reason for seeking the privacy and solace of a foreign land, and some of these dark secrets are openly explored as the ...more
This was a delightful little book that I received as a goodreads give away. I found it a bit difficult to get in to but once I did I enjoyed it. It quickly went from one character to another giving you some insight in to their lives.

I would have liked it to be more indepth and to have given a continuous thread to the characters lives instead of the choppy way it was done. I know this is a style of writing, just not one that I particularly enjoy.
