I love it when a book grabs me on the first page and "malevolent patience" told me this is one of them! I have been choked up, laughed out loud and been guiltily pleased when the goblin got his throat torn out. I want the dog and shiver to think of Kanthy being even more evil than her Mum!
I haven't really read much fantasy in the last 30 odd years, not since David Eddings' Belgariad and Elenium in the 80's, which I loved. Taranor has a lighter feel, which I prefer. - Ruth.Clampitt
