Lady Amanda Locke has struck out miserably in her two Seasons on the marriage mart. Beautiful, titled, and charming even if she does talk a bit too much, Amanda doesn't understand why love eludes her. Even her father, the Duke of Norford, is so perplexed he is prepared to take drastic measures to ensure his daughter's happiness. Now, as Amanda begins her third Season, she...more

If I have to read Lindsey's contrived use of the slang "a'tall" one more time, I shall scream! It reminds me of some of the romances from the 1980's that writers tried to make sound Medieval by scattering words like struth or Elizabethan by making everyone exclaim, "Zounds!"
Not to mention I hate Amanda, the main character. Someone should slap her.

In her last two seasons, Amanda Locke has been passed by like a wallflower. Though she is beautiful and charming, there is something about her that causes all the eligible men to steer away from her. Now, her father, the Duke of Norford is prepared to take drastic measures to ensure that his daughter is well-cared for. As Amanda enters her third season, she is hopeful to find her true love.

Except she encounters Cupid instead. Cupid is a moniker given to Devin Baldwin,...more
I received a copy of this novel through the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway.

Since is #4 of Reid Family series, I felt that I had to read the other three books.
“Let Love Find You”, is by far the best in the series.

The sweet Amanda Locke, the daughter of Preston Locke, the 10th Duke of Norford, is the most that a noble young man can possibly want as a wife, still she’s on her third Season for “ shopping ” a husband, hoping that she’ll finally find the man of her dream, the true love. Since she spen...more
Won from Goodreads Firstreads.

This was my first title from this very popular author and I looked forward to getting to know her writing style.

- The premise. It was refreshing to have the hero be the society matchmaker, a great twist on the hoary old cliche of bachelor spending most of the historical romance story evading the efforts of (usually elderly, female) matchmakers.

- The hero is not an aristocrat. Again, it was a nice change for the hero to have grown up in circumstances wher...more
The fourth book in Johanna Lindsey's Reid Family series. Beautiful Lady Amanda Locke, daughter of the Duke of Norford, is in her third season and determined to marry this time around. She meets a young man who she finds attractive but learns he is an avid horse lover. She never learned to ride due to an accident from her childhood so she agrees to be taught by Devin Baldwin, also known as Cupid. Devin is a horse breeder and seems to have a knack for matchmaking.

I really wanted to love this. Joha...more
This one was ok. It's no where near as good as Lindsey's older books but still a worthwhile read.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

My Summary: Amanda Locke is looking for love - but after two Seasons of being on the market, she still hasn't managed to fall in love (or snag a husband!). When she meets Devin Baldwin, she dislikes him immediately. Unfortunately for her, he is soon hired by her parents to help her find a match.

He does his job well, but before Amanda can secure her position in the life of Viscount Altone...more
Lover of Romance
Amanda, has gone two seasons without finding a husband, and even though she is beautiful, she is looking for something special and unique: true love. However she wonders if she will ever find it, as does her family. Amanda is drawn toward a brute of a man, a horse breeder, who has recently started in the Ton's circles. However he is too rude and blunt for her tastes, so she sets her sights on someone else who has a love for something that is her greatest fear: Horses. So Devin, is her instructor...more
After not being a fan of the first Johanna Lindsey book I tried, I'm so glad I gave her another shot. Let Love Find You was wonderful!

Amanda Locke is a talkative, charismatic girl in her third season who refuses to marry unless she finds love. So far, her admirers have done little to spark her interest. When she meets the handsome and distinguished lord Kindell, she decides that she'll do whatever it takes to snatch him as her husband; even if that means facing her biggest fear - learning to ri...more

Let Love Find You bercerita mengenai adik Raphael, Amanda Locke.

Devin Baldwin dan Ama...more
I think this book has a great plot, for that I might recommend this book.

However, that being said, the characters just didn't click for me.

Our girl here, is a chatterbox. She's a beauty, she's funny, she's confident, but she never shuts up.

Enter lead male, who I thoroughly enjoyed. He was a breath of fresh air from the historical romance alpha males. He was respectful, honest, caring, desirable... anything else I forgot to add in that's attractive to females?

He can help her. Honest. In his end...more
Good book. Amanda has begun her third Season and is still looking for a husband. She doesn't understand why she hasn't immediately fallen in love with someone. When she encounters Devin at a ball, she takes an instant dislike to him, especially when he starts giving her unwanted advice. Devin has set up a new horsebreeding farm near London and has started attending events in order to make more contacts for his business. He has fallen into matchmaking because of his ability to match up people he...more

I think Johanna LIndsey is one of my favorite romance authors-- because I like her genre. She is into the 'princess/knights and turn of century lords and ladies/Pride&Prejudice time periods. Her characters are also generally rather bodice-ripping.
This book is an interesting divergence from what I've read of hers before. The genre is 1800s England Lords and Ladies time period, and as usual, there's a cast of characters who clearly are intertwined through multiple others of her books. This one...more

The Good Stuff

Got sick of historical romances a little while ago, so I was at first hesitant at picking this one up. However, I am glad I did, this one was quite sweet
Not at all shmaltzy or mushy
Amanda actually behaves like someone of her time and station would (with a little extra fire of course)
Devin sounds totally delicious and I might have had a few little fantasies about him -- hey I've been married for 19 years, a girl has to have a little fun you know
Quite a bit of humour for a histo...more

They call him Cupid.

Devin Baldwin raises and trains horses—and as a hobby he also plays matchmaker, finding people of like interests and putting them together. He has this revolutionary idea that marriages work better if the couple has more than one thing they like to do together. Cuz that one thing, well, it’s nice, but there does come a time when you have to do other stuff and if you don’t do the other stuff together pretty soon you’ll be doing the one thing with people you do spend time with...more
*4- Stars*

I usually try to avoid reading and listening to similar books in one genre at the same time, but I did that this week and I admit this suffered because of it. Once I got into it, more than 1/3 or so, it got much better though and I did enjoy it. In typical Johanna Lindsey fashion, this book was full of interesting characters and lots of fun family dynamics. It was sweet and lighthearted. I have a soft spot for Johanna Lindsey, she is the author who got me hooked on romance. (Though I c...more

Set in modern times in Regency England and Scotland, Let Love Find You written in 2012 is the third book of Johanna Lindsey in his Locke Family Series.

It is about how Amanda Locke tries to find a man to marry. However, it is not that easy since one of her criteria is she must fall in love with the man. For three seasons, she is getting bored with her suitors and losing hope.

Her frustrations over her husband hunting was made worse when the brute Devin Baldwin outspokenly told her of the wrong th...more

I won this through First Reads and loved it! I had been a voracious reader of Lindsey's historical romances for a long time and then had taken a bit of a break. "Let Love Find You" was a great way to get me back into her books. I loved the interaction of all of the characters, especially the hero and heroine. Johanna Lindsey does great dialogue - this one kind of reminded me of a Cary Grant/Rosalind Russell movie with the love/hate relationship and snappy comebacks.

Maybe because I'm a big fan of the author but I expected something more from this book. The novel starts to be interesting since the party in Amanda house (but I have already read 70% of the book to that moment!!!)
So it is a good book, with love and mistery (the identity of Devin's father and step brother) but I keep feeling disappointed about it because it is not a great book like others of Johanna Lindsey :(

Lady Amanda Locke, daughter of Preston Locke, the 10th Duke of Norford is in her third season on the marriage mart. She truly saw no hope her first season because of Ophelia Reid's beauty. It was clear that the men only had eyes for her.
It was her second season when her brother married Ophelia and they told her to have fun, so that season was over before she...more

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Johanna Lindsey was the first author I ever deemed my "favorite" when a friend introduced me to her novels in high school. This is the first I've picked up in awhile. While I enjoyed the story and the characters were well developed as always, there was something off about the style of this book that I just can't quite put my finger on. One of the main things that stuck out to me was the excessive use of exclamation points. This seems to me a rookie author mistake I...more

Why are her books getting more timid, more teen romance with barely any drama, no big romance, all of the sudden they are in love and happy ending. Want books more like her old ones.
About once every six months, I am in the mood to read something absurd and girly and saccharine. My expectations were quite low, but they were nicely met.
pumpeddddddd for this. Dies for a bit of Johnanna Lindsey Romance

When I saw this book in the store I was so excited! I absolutely love Johanna Lindsey. Then I flipped it over and saw that the heroine's name is Amanda!

Amanda Locke has been looking for husband, two seasons have come and gone with no luck. Now, she is getting a bit desperate - not wanting to end up an old-maid (at 20 or 21). Fortunately, her comes from a family with means therefore she is able to wed for love, problem is, she finds all the men of the ton dull. That is until she meets C...more
Johanna Lindsey does it again. I have always enjoyed her writing.
This was a pretty good historical romance and the banter between the main charaters kept me reading. I enjoyed both the characters and the plot. But there was some dialogue that I had to re-read, trying to imagine how or why the hero was finishing his sentences with an exclamation point.
Outside of that, I actually really loved the story. A duke’s daughter is entering her third season and instead of becoming “on-the-shelf” her fam...more
Another great read by Johanna Lindsey, 4th book in the Reid family series.

Up this time is Amanda Locke, sister to Raphael who we met in The Devil Who Tamed Her. Amanda's had her coming out and is now in her third season and starting to feel the pinch of finding a husband. Her goal is to find a love match and nothing less will suffice.

Devin Baldwin is a matchmaker. Given the nickname "Cupid" due to insightful observations about behavior, Devin has successfully matched up couples and is now sought...more
This was a pretty good historical romance but I think I’m a little iffy on how much I liked it. This boils down not to my enjoyment of the characters or the plot, I actually was just annoyed by what I felt was an excessive use of exclamation points. Weird, I know, but there was some dialogue that I almost recoiled from because I had to re-read, trying to imagine how or why the hero was finishing his sentences with an exclamation point. Outside of that, I actually really loved the story. A duke’s...more

Johanna Helen Howard was born on March 10, 1952 in Germany, where her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, a soldier in the U.S. Army was stationed. The family moved about a great deal when she was young. Her father always dreamed of retiring to Hawaii, and after he passed away in 1964 Johanna and her mother settled there to honor him.

In 1970, when she was still in school, she married Ralph Lindsey, becom...more
