Dead Meat is a zombie apocalypse tale told from the perspective of Gavin, a young man living in River's Edge when an outbreak of what the media claims is rabies spread by rats has already overtaken the town. The military has been called in and at the start of the story it’s clear that this is no normal case of rabies. Gavin meets Benny, who is hiding out on the roof of a convenience store, a couple of days into the mess the ‘bees’ (what Gavin dubs the undead/biters, because they tend to swarm to ...more

Dead Meat is a US-based horror story. It sets itself aside from its peers by being small-town and centred around a core of protagonists. Our potential antagonists are... well... everybody else. That's the tone Dead Meat sets, and it's one hell of a ride.

This book is not for the faint of heart, those with a weak disposition, nor for those with a bleak outlook on life. If you're in the doldrums, it's probably best that you don't pick up this book. Rarely have I seen such a desolate tone set and ca

Brains….brains….I need brains…..mmmmm…..

Yeah. That's what I expected when I read Dead Meat by Chris and Patrick Williams. I mean, c'mon. With a title like that, I figured the book would be all about zombies eating human flesh and walking around with no real destination in mind. Granted, there is some of that in this book, but there is so much more!

First of all, the word zombie isn't ever mentioned. Gavin, the narrator, can't deal with thinking of them as on

Really great book, showing what people will do to survive, and yeah the zombies were just creepy! Like at the beginning, the road kill trying to kill...yeah, great book!

*Full review to come 30/05/12*

This was an awesome, chill-thrill book, heart-pounding, and terror filled novel. The characters were strong and weak during parts of the novel, when things got too hard, and they still kept going-survival is the name of the game, or in this case, the job, thought it's most definitely not a regular 9

River's Edge has a problem. A severe outbreak of rabies has been declared and people are dying by the truckload. Sort of. A survivor by the name of Gavin who is trying to find his family has a feeling there is something more to this rabies outbreak and as the story progresses, and he encounters other survivors he discovers just what.
River's Edge is full of zombies and they're hungry. Before long Gavin and his rag tag group have dubbed the zombies 'bees' in 'honor' of the way they swarm when atta

I know this has been said, but I am by nature not a Zombie fan. No more than that, I am a Romance Reader. Sure I have read many other genres and have even enjoyed some of them but at heart, I am a HEA kinda girl. There is also this part of me that can not deal with any type of tension or suspense.. Honestly, I couldn’t even watch I Love Lucy as a kid because her COMEDIC Suspense was too unbearable. Because of these two characteristics I tend to rarely go into the horror/suspense genre.. "Beliefs or anxieties, they don't matter. One way or another, death comes in the shape it wants and doesn't guarantee a pretty ending."

Tragedy, horror, and the instinct to survive will do crazy things to a person, but how will they effect two young men who have barely struck out into adulthood? Dead Meat follows a small group of survivors as they discover the true extent of their recently ravaged world and find out first hand that the

A zombie apocalypse survivor horror told from the point of view of a civilian, a young man named Gavin. The first quarter of the book is a little slow but the pace picks up quickly once the protagonists manage to leave their hometown. The story revolves around a world ravaged by "rabies" epidemic that turns the dead into zombies ("bees") that taste the surrounding air for food. The world is composed of the "Exterminators" (former US military gone rogue), "Pirates" (criminal gangs) and the suvivo ...more

I think the best aspect of the story, the part that drew me in more then any other zombie story is the fact that it seemed real. There was no group of survivor's know they are going to die, and instead of having that unrealistic hope and trying to band together to make sure they survive, they do what they have to do to make sure they are the last ones to die.

I also liked that the army used the living to draw out the bee's (zombies.) It was also interesting how the virus was spread, through rabid

WOW!! I wish I can give it more stars. what a wonderful book!! This story blew my mind, it was very well written. I was so sorry to finish it. It was so action packed, back to back!! It was emotional, scary, creepy, there were good guys, bad guys, zombies, guts and gore galore!! I just couldn't put the book down, it was that good! I hope to see other books by these authors! The ending left me baffled, I did not suspect any of how it ended. I won't spoil it for you. I will say, get this book, your ...more

The publishers description was adequate enough to get my attention, but I was disappointed because the publisher neglected to put a page about the authors. I don’t really know who Patrick and Chris Williams are yet, but I’m trying to find out because I want to read more of their stories.

I wanted to read another good zombie book. I wasn’t really prepared for Dead Meat. Full review is posted at

Read back when it was available online on the website. I've got to say it was one of my favorite reads, especially where zombie stories are concerned. The pacing was good, the characters were unique and interesting, the zombies were genuinely terrifying when they needed to be, and there was a goal for the whole story.

This is a very interesting book which tells the story differently than most others. The action is basically non stop with an unexpected twist at the ending. If your into the zombie crazed this book is a must read.
