Say what you will about Jesse "The Body" Ventura -- and many people will, describing the former Minnesota Guv as a "kook" -- but he has a way of describing a cluttered, corrupt system in a simplistic, libertarian POV. It's always been a voice I've found refreshing, even when he was railing against the machine back in his WWF days. While this book doesn't really offer many surprises (yes, Jesse dislikes the two-party system, nothing new here) it does provide an interesting and well-researched (he...more

I tend to steer clear of books on politics because regardless of the side being portrayed I usually walk away ready to pull my hair out in a fit of rage. I ended up picking up DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans: No More Gangs in Government because it looked like it was blatantly calling out the current system as a whole.

I think Jesse "The Body" was on point with most of what he said in calling for a massive overhaul to the current system. I also believe the imagery he used in the book's title that flow...more

Mr. Ventura is right on the mark. Until we close the gap on the "very rich" and the middle class, there is never going to be an equality of wealth among us. We need to get people in the White House like there used to be back in the day who actually cared about the people and not about how much more money they could make or tax breaks. Good read!

Ventura makes some solid arguments. This is a wonderful book for those who have become disillusioned with our current political system. The only problem I have with it is Ventura's strong push for Ron Paul. It would have been stronger without his endorsement of a candidate.

I liked the book's theme of a no-party system; however, even though I'm interested in finance, I think the average person will quickly tire of pages of statistics and dollars and put the book down.

OK, so technically I did not finish the book. I had about 35 pages left and it was due back to the library and to be really honest I was never going to read the chapter entitled "Ron Paul is the Second Coming"... that's not what that chapter was actually titled?! Please forgive, I returned the book to the library yesterday.

Overall the content was nothing new (to me) but I understand much of his content may be new to some readers. I agree with Mr. Ventura that our political system is broken and r...more

Ventura is a strange seed. He has historically claimed his Libertarian beliefs yet this book has many inconsistencies when compared to the "Libertarian" platform. Ventura implicitly supports the "rich" to pay 90% in taxes. Although I do not believe that corporations or their executives should not pay $0.00, I disagree that someone, because they have succeeded on their own merits or have created exceptional products should be penalized by taking 90% of their earnings. With that said, I am opposed...more

His work reinforces the cynic in me about the American political system. He argues that our two-party system is really represented as gangs that ultimately serve themselves rather than serving its nation. There's nothing too difficult in his book as he lays out all the information in a straightforward manner. Each chapter is a basic informative session on certain aspects of In all honesty, I imagine one would have a stronger sense of his character when he represents himself through the visual me...more

I know many of you are thinking - why would anyone read Jesse Ventura? I was very pleasantly surprised. I don't agree with a lot of his politics but this book is chocked full of facts, one after another, that don't pick sides. I would strongly suggest that if you want to learn more about what is wrong with our current two party system, this is a book to put on your list. Couple this with Thomas Friedman's latest book and his call for a third party, it is too bad we can get more straight thinking...more

In Jesse Ventura's book "DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans: No More Gangs in Government" he describes his views on the current political system and the corruption in all aspects of the "american system". He constantly hammers both political parties, to eliminate bias because he is an independent, and constantly states facts (they are cited, so you can fact check him). One of the things i found most interesting about this book was Jesse Ventura's type of thinking. He is an extremist conspiracist, howev...more

The book is filled with enough information to make anyone angry. Our government is broken. It has been bought and paid for by the biggest businesses and corporations in America. It's one big incestuous mess. Those charged with regulating are or have worked for the businesses they are regulate. Ventura opts for doing away with the two party system. not likely to happen. Everyone should read this. Trust no one. Question everything. We are in big trouble, just a matter of when. Wake up America. No...more

A very sobering look at the current disturbing political climate in the United States. I think this paints a pretty good portrait of the disgust the average American has for the job the government is doing. The only problem I have with this book is it's very lean on solutions. We need solutions, not more "misery loves company" screeds. The last chapter does hint at some salvation, perhaps in a run from Ventura and Ron Paul in 2016 and the hope of enacting real change, not what was promised in 20...more

I recommend this book! Jesse Ventura has done it again with his page-turning writing style that reveals the corruption of this government. I was satisfied at the ending because, knowing is half the battle. This book gives us the information we need to try to DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans. This was a very interesting book and needless to say, this should be required reading. This book really helped me understand the issues of corporatism and military contractors. In a trial against the two parties,...more

This was not a bad book. I just got tired of the soap-box mentality of Jesse Ventura's writings. At times I felt inspired. Other times I felt Mr. Ventura had taken too many pile-drives to the head. I came away with a new perspective. I liked the historical connections made in this book and I feel we should at least adopt some new ideas in regards to the two party system.

I'll agree with most of other reviewers. You won't learn the TRUTH from the 'mainstream' media. Jesse and Jim Marrs and Alex Jones are my new heroes. Read everything you can get your hands on. The controlled Media would rather have you watching Reality TV, so read all you can from Jesse; Jim and Daniel Estulin etc. 5 Stars on all counts! - R.L.

Easy reading, well researched, not too heavy on the conspiracy stuff, and a great case for third parties, for rejecting the binary system we're accustomed to. That said, the last chapters are a long endorsement of Ron Paul, so there's that tinge of naive libertarianism. (Yes, I'm aware of how odd it is to call a former Navy SEAL 'naive').

I saw this book by accident while at Barnes & Noble, and I decided to have a look at it because I like Jesse Ventura's style. I'd bet I was there for 20+ minutes reading through the book before I ripped myself away from it long enough to take it to the cashier. I am definitely looking forward to finishing it. :-)

Eye-opening. Many facts and figures were pulled together to hammer the point.
Reading these type of books feels like getting cleansed after being influenced by the mainstream media and hypnotized back to sleep again. There are many references to other sources which can be explored further.

Filled with documentation of the corruption of the two major parties, this book prescribes what has worked in so many local elections, namely banning party affiliation bylines on ballots, having all vote together in unified primaries, with run-off final elections between top vote-getters.

Wish that it didn't seem to turn into just propaganda to get Ron Paul elected in the 2012 elections, but I liked the general information he presented about the way our "democracy" works and about all the ways the money is directed and flows in this country.

would give 3 stars but I love JV too much, so 4 stars.

Dry book but good stuff in it. Didn't finish so marking it as read. I listen to all of JVs interviews and what not so I got a good handle of the material in this book.

Jesse Ventura is always very informative and not afraid to speak the truth about the vast amount of problems with our country and our politicians today. I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
Jay
It's very clear Jesse wrote this book and not a ghost writer or anything. It reads as if he was in the room with you. Overall he makes some very good points about the kind of problems we see in government.
Robert T. Garcia
I enjoyed this book because I respect Mr. Jesse Ventura as a man who served is country in so many ways.
Insightful and thought provoking is what I can say.
Robert
I just finished this book in time for the November election. Assuming that JV can back up the topics he discusses in this book, we are screwed.

Chapter 15 was the most interesting to read in the entire book, but then again, not all things political are supposed to be fun to read.
Jon Conners
Amazing, refreshing, informative and inspiring. It was a bitch and moan feast but solutions were brought to the table.
