While this history purports to uncover the history overlooked in Australia by the changing use of the term “larrikin” I can’t help but feel it only uncovers “a history” as it subtitle suggests. My feeling of disquiet grew as I read further into the chapters, and found that most of the names commonly referred to by my own mother were all “before her time”.
