This book is a book for young people (children to middle school) and was actually written by a distant cousin of mine about Charles R. Sanford. His father was Lemuel Sanford, our common ancestor. It contains two stories, one is about Charles and the other about his cousin, Thomas, who was the son of Lemuel's brother. The Sanford family lived in Alabama and were loyal to the Union, which was very difficult for them at the time. The book does a good job of showing how hard it was for these two ...more
