An exceptional book. I found the story woven around the history of the early 17th century in the 'western frontier' of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida exciting and educational. This is a book I will keep on my shelf for a re-read after I retire in the winter. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the history of settlers - English and Spanish - and the natives of many tribes and their interactions one with another astonishing. This is history we were never taught in school.
