I've been told for years that I should write a book. The problem is I'm too lazy to write one. However I've had facebook for 3 years and in that time I know that all my statuses have equaled a book. I have kept some of my statuses out of this because they are personal and not very entertaining. I also have kept the comments under my statuses out of this for two reasons. One is there is too many and I have a lot of funny friends with very witty comments and I won't allow them jerks to upstage me on my own book(they can write their own, damn it). The second reason is I'm not taking credit for things they say and I don't know who would want to be mentioned and who wouldn't. So please enjoy this book.....or don't, I don't care. At least if you don't like it you'll have one more thing in life to complain about.
Just as the name implies, "My Self Serving Book of Facebook Statuses and Notes" is a short book of different Facebook notes and statuses Vinnie Rinaudo used over the years. What it lacked in length it had made up in humor. I found myself reading many of them again but not because I didn't understand it but because I was reading it to others when they walked in the house and asked me what I was reading. Some of these were just too funny.
On the other hand, some were insulting and degrading so this book is not for everyone and the language would put it on an "adults only" list. Religion, politics, celebrities, no subject was 'safe' and no groups of people were safe, gays, straight, whites, he covered them all. I think only his imagination was the limit.
I found there were some statements I just didn't quite 'get' maybe it is because I am not familiar with the person made reference to such as "Tim Tebow is proof that there is a God ........and he hates football". I had to ask a sports fan who he was and he just told me he was a football player (thank you for the obvious) and asked why I wanted to know so I told him that line and he burst out laughing for five minutes but I just didn't get it and I still don't but apparently anyone out there that is a football fan would enjoy this...or not. So like I said some just 'went over my head' but for the most part I did enjoy this book.
I think this is one of those kinds of books either you will like it or hate it but I think everyone would find something funny in it if you had a sense of humor. I would only recommend it to an adult who isn't insulted or offended easily and would like to kill a few hours with some humor.
This book is total garbage and deserves minus stars. The author spends his whole time just complaining about stupid things, insulting other people, and thinking that he is the most important thing in the world. i was hoping for something witty and fun, but what I got was a mosh posh of trash, by a cynical, arrogant, frustrated human being who has nothing nice, or even remotely funny, to say about anyone or anything. Some have likened this to Family Guy or South Park, but this is not anywhere close. Rinaudo has not creative finesse when it comes to making fun of things without being insulting. He's just an ass wipe who thinks his Facebook statuses are worth you attention and enough for you to pay money to own. Don't waste your time or your money. There is far better stuff out there, not this refuse
Yes, I am the author, but I can tell you for a fact that this book is hilarious. Even if you don't agree with my views on everything, you will be laughing out loud throughout this book. Give it a try and if you have a sense of humor you won't be disappointed.
Maybe I should explain what having a sense of humor means to certain idiots. If you laugh at "South Park", "Archer", "Family Guy", "Super Troopers", or any of the stand-up comedians mentioned in the acknowledgments then you will laugh while reading this book. If you don't you are a snob and have no business reading this.
