What an independent little guinea pig! Students will love Charlie and his adventure to Hollywood. He flies on an airplane, becomes an actor, gets snazzy, new clothes, and goes to a big Hollywood party. Charlie is one cool pig. In the mean time, Charlie's keeper, Sophie, is waiting for Charlie to come home. When he finally arrives they are excited to see each other and Charlie never wants to run away again. This would be a good book to possibly share during morning meeting time, or share time. I'

This book is about a guinea pig who goes to hollywood to be a star! He gets all hollywood fancy and goes to parties. But he soon realizes what he misses most of all, his friend/family/owner. Good book to talk about friendship, or just read aloud. This would also be a good book to start or end the day with!

I'd actually give this two stars, but my three-year-old asked for it four times in a row, so it must be better than I thought. The flow just wasn't there for me: where did the need for Fruity Nut Buffet come from? It wasn't even in the early pictures. And the solution just seemed too easy. But, the wordplay was good.

This is a cute story about a guinea pig who decides to go to Hollywood and become a movie star and who discovers in the end, that there's no place like home. Cute and funny. We love Denise Brunkus' illustrations from Junie B. Jones and you can see her wonderful, inimitable style in this story.

Super cute story and fun art work. My daughter loves this story and it's fun to read. It's a great story about friendship and how the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Not too much here, just some quirky humor and a cute guinea pig. But it's a happy book.

I loved it! Charlie is an adorable guinea pig with personality plus. Dreaming of fame and fortune he heads to Hollywood in hopes of becoming the Next Big Thing. During the flight to Los Angeles the stewardess asks if he'd like a glass of tomato juice to which he coolly replies, "On the rocks, baby." (My favorite line of the book.) Does Charlie make it big or does family tug at his heartstrings? Predictable ending but this does not detract from the book's endearing nature and witty bant

A guinea pig is looking for a better life and travels to California to be a movie star. After getting a job and meeting with many industry people he realizes he has it better at home with his owner. He hurries home and is welcomed with open arms.
This was a great and funny read. It flowed easily. Great story to remind kids that it is not always better somewhere else.

Creative adventure fiction of a guinea pig who goes to Hollywood to become famous. He arrives and is swept into Hollywood life which is no place for a guinea pig. He becomes hungry and lonely and decides home is where he needs to be.
