Picked up this book today at the library, read three chapters there and finished it in a few hours at home. Something very different from my usual and very amusing. Don't let the publishing date of 2011 fool you. It was actually first written and published in 1959 under the title Sweet and Plenty. It is the story of a young woman called Candida (Candy) and set in England. The subject matter must have been a shocking story for those times, but she finally finds love in the end and in a very funny ...more
