Not a light read. This is dark fantasy for adults.

In fact, it gets dark and disturbing to the point that I sometimes found myself disturbed by wanting to keep reading.

But I bought and read it anyway.

I've even reread it.

And I've found myself hoping that the author writes in that world again.

Elements of Rebellion is a strong story about two people, damaged by a cruel culture that's so cruel for the purpose of keeping everyone subjugated—two damaged people who put themselves through worse to get th...more

Elements of Rebellion is an intense, riveting tale with disturbing content many readers may find offsetting. It contains graphic violence and strong sexual content with scenes of abuse that made me wince more than once. I typically prefer lighter fare but this is not your typical novel. This is an outstanding novel that will leave your emotions ricocheting like a stray bullet.

Set in a futuristic world, Elements of Rebellion introduces two wounded souls, each taking a different path toward surviv...more

I would first like to say that I received this book in a giveaway, which has no sway in what I honestly thought of this book.

With that taken care of, let's dive in. I was instantly grabbed from the first sentence which starts the voice of our main character. Just from that one sentence I could tell that she wasn’t some dim witted damsel in distress like so many authors tend to make the women. She was going to be one of those action seeking women you can’t help but root for. And I couldn’t have b...more

I won this book through a Librarything's giveaway.

LOVED this book. It's been a while since I have been absolutely certain that a book was worth 5 stars. With this book I wish there was 6 stars. I couldn't put this book down. It was a such a raw and amazing story. I think I picked the right night to read it (thunderstorms rumbling). Usually I'm not into the sexual scenes in books but these enhanced the story line. Not only does it show what needs to be done to survive but also the depth it takes...more

Rebellion starts with the spirit as Sindari refuses to break despite the pain and torture that she is put through. If she can hold out, it just might be her stubbornness that helps end the reign of a brutal empire.

When she is sold to the worst known enforcer in the Dominion, her circumstances go from bad to potentially worse. But Lord Devin doesn’t want to add to her suffering and enslavement, as he has other plans for Sindari. A crazy plan that just might make everything she has endured before...more

OMG, this story was amazing and I couldn't expect less from this author: Coral Moore. She's one of my favorite discoveries this year! At the beginning of 2012, I read Broods of Fenrir, and I was agape by the harsh world that Ms. Moore has created. Still, I fell for the main character and the whole story was incredible, a real page-turning book!

Now, with Elements of Rebellion, I wasn't surprise to read about a cruel world, but also about intense characters and a fantastic journey. Don't get me wr...more

I received this book free through a goodreads giveaway. I really enjoyed this book and liked the main character a lot. Sindari is a very strong woman and shows the reader how much a person can endure for something they truly believe in. I am hoping the author continues her story in future books. If you are a fan of the hunger games, you may also like this book since it is about civilizations that are oppressed by others and the strength of the people to stand up against this.

This was the first book I've ever received from a giveaway so I didn't know what to expect. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! I really like Coral's writing style - The heroine Sindari is a complex character that embodies the strong woman archtype. This book kept me turning the pages and I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to read it!

Coral Moore has always been the kind of girl who makes up stories. Fortunately, she never quite grew out of that. She writes because she loves to invent characters and the desire to find out what happens to her creations drives the tales she tells.

Prompted by a general interest in how life works, her undergraduate schooling was in biology. She follows science news and enjoys conversations about ge...more
