I don't often read crime thrillers so receiving this book was a real change of direction for me. The few crime thrillers i have looked at i have found hard to get into and very 'samey' so this one came as a pleasant surprise. It had a refreshing feel to it, the layout of the paragraphs and the dialogue made for easy reading. The characters are likeable and often very amusing, especially the two main characters in the story, and the way this story delves into both their private lives at the same ...more
Just finished the book and I truly enjoyed it. Hard to believe The Testing Point is author's first book. It is written so well that it actually felt like I was watching a movie not just reading a book. Loved the characters and a sarcastic remarks between Ben and Dina are just hilarious.
I guess there will be a sequel and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I received book for free through the Goodreads First Reads. Thanks to the author for having a giveaway.
I was a First Read Winner and I thoroughly enjoyed this police thriller. It kept me at the edge of my seat and guessing until the end. I loved the interactions between the 2 main characters and the overall dialog of the book. I had a hard time putting the book down and I hope that this will not be the end of our hero's, I would love to follow them from case to case. I highly recommend this book.
I'm reading "The Testing Point" by Eric Collins. It's a police-drama/mystery set in Boston.

I'm about half-way through and so far have loved it. It has snappy dialogue, a good plot, and characters that I want to know. Has the flavor of Robert B. Parker, but its own voice as well.

Highly recommend it!

Eric Collins grew up the son of a Boston police officer. His father’s stories of the night shift were his favorite entertainment. Eric worked in the educational publishing business for 20 years, but his real loves were teaching martial arts and self-defense, which he did for 15 years, and being an environmental advocate, which he has been doing for the past 10 years. He now lives a relatively quie ...more
