BRIEF SUMMARY
Mo has been in a relationship with Quan for nine years and through out that time she has dealt with his lies, cheating, the miscarriages, and drama. But with all that is going on, she finds herself still in love and torn when it comes to Quan. But will she ever leave and find happiness?

THOUGHTS

The words that came to mind when I read Mo and Quan's relationship while it unraveled, toxic, Ike and Tina with a lot of dysfunction in the mix.

I enjoyed reading this book so much. I cried with Mo through the loss of Heaven, and cheered her when she destroyed Quans stuff! I couldn't put the book down at all. I even cried when she said she didn't want to leave him because she was afraid that would mean losing the reakationship with his mom. That was so touching. Boss was the BEST! I think we all want a man like him! And A lot of people talked about Sherry, but I got to hand it to her, she played the game just right. She had me compleatly ...more

I could read this novel fifty five and a half times and I will still never understand how Mo was so torn about Quan. Their horrible relationship didn't seem so confusing, it was as clear as a beautiful sunny California day that they should run in opposite directions. This novel is way too long and overflowed with a surplus of redundant unnecessary scenarios. I could see how the length and nonessential circumstances could be entertaining if the reader is torn and confused right along with the cha ...more

“Torn” Keisha Ervin

As a young women coming of age relationships are important to me Advice from others play a huge part in my Decisions as I stumbled upon a book named “Torn". I was excited to read it. The book chronicles the ups & downs of relationships such as the main character Mo and her boyfriend Quan. I rate this book highly and is a must read for teens. It’s a must read because of the drama, how it shows the cons and pros of relationships and fairy tall e ending.

The book I am reading is called Torn this book has many love hate relationships and dramatic scenes in it it expresses a sense of reality. It's based of a couples relationship and how they overcome the worst in life together. It reminds me of when me and my girlfriend was together and all of the things that happened with us they are very similar because we were both just like the main characters we were devious and we both were torn between lust, infatuation and survived a few fist fights.

Mo seemed like every women in america who loves a man that doesn't even deserve her love. Everytime she lost their baby(ies) I became heart broken because she wanted to be a mother so bad. This book is dangerous. It had me memorized for three days. I was up all night and going to work very tired cause I just couldn't put it down. I was drawn to Mo's and Quan's story. I was very emotional right along with Mo. ...Talk about an emotional roller coaster!!! My heart went out to her. Quan... such a dog ...more

Quan and Mo's toxic relationship was driving me bananas. It drama after drama after drama. Quan was selfish and insecure. He did Mo dirty in every sense of the word. She dealt with so much especially with Sherry that I couldn't believe it. It was like a never ending cycle. Then one day the unthinkable happens and Mo is fired up to the point of no return. This leads her on a journey she could have never imagined. Although through that journey she still had past hang ups and indecrestions. Mo stru ...more

I pulled this book from my bestfriend's shelf. I would have spent money on it had I known how good it was. I was going through a bad break up at the time and this book was everything I needed. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me angry. Ms. Ervin told a great story and I love the way that it ended. It was so close to reality for me and now I reading everything I deal with a bad relationship. It's on my shelf as a favorite.

VERY GOOD BOOK READ IT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS . THAT'S HOW GOOD IT WAS I JUST COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. THE BOOK WAS GOOD BUT AT TIME YOU MIGHT GET TIRED OF THE MAIN CHARACTER BECAUSE SHE KEPT MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SOME MIGHT APPRECIATE THAT BECAUSE SOMETIMES PART OF BEING HUMAN IS MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

I wasn't going to write a review on Torn simply because I haven't featured a book of the urban fiction genre here on my blog, but then I thought "why couldn't I change that by reviewing one of the first stories that captured my heart?"

Now when I first read Torn back when I was in middle school I couldn't get enough of this book, matter of fact every book this author wrote at the time graced my shelves, and I would've easily given it a solid 5 stars. Since then, though, I've read all kinds of boo

I'm going back and forth between two and three stars right now and I've opted for three because I'm hoping it's me that took away from the book. I'm fairly sure it was which is why I'm taking this route. I really wish we had the 'half a star' option right now.
Keisha Ervin is a GOOD author, as any urban fiction reader knows. I'm not sure if this wasn't what I was expecting or if, more likely, I just wasn't in the right mood or frame of mind for this particular story at this particular moment.

I haven't given a book five stars in a long time! But "Torn" left me so satisfied, it couldn't of gotten anything less then five. First off, the references the author makes to popular songs like "ordinary people" by John Legend and other songs by Beyonce and Jay-z are so subtle and add flavor and humor. Mo was funny and though dumb at times, I had to love her and her friends Mina and delicious. Sherry was the classic side bitch ugh, and Quan. Sadly, I couldn't help it but I loved quan, his love ...more

In Keisha Ervin's novel, "Torn" she describes the life of two childhood sweethearts by the name of Mo and Quan. They go through many trials and tribulations regarding marriage, adultery, and motherhood, as well as poverty versus wealth and superficial versus honest associates. I would recommend this book to any reader that wants to delve their teeth into something raunchy, culturally informative as well as entertaining.

I never knew boys could come with so many problems, until I read the book Torn. This book allowed to open my eyes and face the truth about how some guys really are. Some boys are truely sweet and loyal, and others just seem to be nothing at all. The book talked about how this young girl name Mo was so in love with a no good guy name Quan, who treated her like a queen but had changed through out their relationship.

Torn is a really good book. I takes place in St.Louis which gave me as the read a g
