Acts of God starts out in the life of a daughter of a traveling insurance salesman named Tess. Tess learned early on that no matter how much you love or cherish something, weather it be work, love, or a home nothing is safe. Tess tells the story in first person and never says much about herself and keeps to the point she want ...more

Fascinating read, tale of family disfunction and how childhood trauma clashes with adult desire.

Solid novel that follows an adult 1st person narrator who is haunted by her past. Ms. Morris does a great job of blending present action with past (memory).

As a writer my closest influences are Willa Cather and F. Scott Fitzgerald. I travel as much as I can and travel fuels everything I do. When I travel, I keep extensive journals which are handwritten and include watercolors, collage as well as text. All ...more
