The Throne of Fire (Kane Chronicles #2)
To be honest, I enjoyed this book more than its predecessor, The Red Pyramid. And I just enjoyed the story more and the humor. But unfortunately, its still not as good as the Percy Jackson and the...more
like saving the world from the biggest serpent ever, or knocking babbon out of the bridge.
things like that.
but there were also secret things each of them wanted to do and to do that, they had to sacrifice some things. even if there were chances the world was going to collapse in five-days...
for some things, I felt a little disappointed about this book. which is, pretty suck since I was so dreaded to read it.
still, such a fun book you must never miss...more
The way they saved the world was predictable. I can even guess that when they gambled with Khonsu. And one more thing, the main charactors were Sadie AND Carter, not just Sadie. I felt like everything was...more
In the Throne of Fire, the world is about to end. Again. [Gasp. Sorry, Bog just poked me in the ribs.]
Riordan's prose is generally quite tight, and well written. [Thank you, Bog, I would like a drink.] But, he chose to use the same ridiculous [Yes, Bog, I could have used a stronger word here, bu...more
Griega, romana, nórdica, egipcia, casi...more
The Throne of Fire, as expected, did not disappoint me. Sadie is so funny, I couldn't help but to choke down a few laughs considering that it was late at night at that time and I didn't want to scare any of my family members. Lol. Anyways. As funny as...more
Lanjut, gara-gara penasaran dan bokek akhirnya saya membaca Thrones of fire dalam format ebook plus audiobook. Awalnya mau sok denger audiobook doang, ngek, malah ga ngerti Sadie ngomong apa, akhirnya jalan tengah yang saya ambil. Dengar audibook sambil baca ebook, terus terang ini pengalaman pertama saya mendengar audiobook, seru sih karena saya membayangkan tokoh Sadie tidak s...more
It opens strong with Carter trying to liberate a magical item from a museum, only to have things go horribly wrong. It's a dramatic and funny opening but that initial energy and humor slowly peters out.
Although I normally adore Egyptian mythology, the pacing felt off here. The chapter alternate betwe...more
Anyway, the Kanes have quite grown and they seem to have good judgment already (although there are times that Sadie is being tactless). No, really, I'm...more
I always feel like we can get a lot more out of Carter. His character is supposed to be 'great' and pharaoh material. But I get that vibe a lot more from Sadie than him. Carter is always worn out and weakened first in battle and the only powerful thing he can do is his hawk avatar thing and he doesn't do much with it. I have to admit though that he did do well in the battle at the end with Apophis. Despite all this, I seem to favor him over his sister. He does through when they need him. He has...more
Here, once again Riordan's hero kids are faced with the end of the world coming in five days. So what does the girl do? S...more
No segundo volume da série As Crônicas dos Kane, Riordan novamente se dá o trabalho de transcrever os áudios gravados por Carter e Sadie e nos permite conhecer as novas aventuras dos irmãos Kane. Aqueles que gost...more

"Bebsi?" I asked.
"Pepsi," Walt said. "I read about it on the Internet. There's no 'p' in Arabic. Everyone here calls the soda Bebsi."
"So you have to have Bebsi with your bizza?"
