Joana Starnes
A very informative collection of anecdotes from the Regency Period - sadly remembered and recorded in the Victorian period, which probably accounts for the general impression that somehow they have been 'cleaned up / brushed up' a little in preparation. All in all a very enjoyable read.

Although probably only of interest to period aficionados, this frequently charming memoir of life in the Victorian fast lane contains some juicily scandalous nuggets that will surprise those for whom "Victorian" = "neurotically prudish."
