This bilingual book has both English and Spanish in it and great for ELL students. The book talks about Anna, the apple orchid owner who must pick the apples while they are in season. It covers the different types of apples, what you can make with apples, and selling the apples. The colorful pictures encourage environmental print and keep the student's attention. Recipes are included.

WONDERFUL ESOL BOOK!!

This is a great book to use as transition into a cooking activity. I read this book to my class and we had a great discussion about how apples grow and all the different ways we can use them. We weren't able to make applesauce but I brought some in for them to eat.

If your kid likes apples...A LOT...this is a great book. Lots of colorful illustrations and includes a recipe at the end for apple stuffs-- though we usually skip that part since my son says, "AGAIN!" when we get to the last page.

A favorite of mine for Storytime. It's not just a bland book about apples. We count the baskets of apples, talk about the signs, count out the money. I love the clear, simple illustrations.

This is a great book for students who love apples or interested in farming. Annie has great recipes in the back using apples and a list of all the different types of apples.

It's apple season in Western New York, so this was on display at our local library and didn't have too many words for my 2 1/2 y/o to sit for. The illustrations are clear, bright, colorful and fun (lots of animals) and the story is informative, but not too loaded down with facts. I love that there are recipes in the back. We will be trying them before it goes back to the library. DS's favorite page is the one where Annie is driving her apple goodies into the city for the farmers market. The...more

This is a cute book about what to do with apples after they are picked, such as making applesauce, apple pies, and cider. It is very informational!

this book will help students explore their creative side with apples... did not enjoy it that much but it does help with creativity

I like this simple story about Annie and her apple orchard and all of the things that you can do with apples.

while this book would be suitable for preschoolers looking at apples, it seemed just a little bland to me.
Denise
Good book for pre-school teacher collections (autumn, apples, community helpers)
Terrah
I love this author! Her books are cute and informative.
Ghislaine
I read this book to two year olds for storytimes on apples.

This is another which works well in bilingual storytime because it is not too text-heavy. There are good talking points in this book from the illustrations around the text; for example, in the page where Ana is going to the city, we see various street signs and structures she encounters along the way. Good for farming and job themes.

It's not the best, most wonderful book ever, but it's not bad.

It has simple text and simple artwork, and is well-suited for toddlers, preschoolers, and young school-aged children.

I especially like the recipes in the back. I *always* like recipes in the back :)

one of Jake's favorites. I painted a picture of Annie on his bedroom wall for him.
