Bob Ong's ABNKKBSNPLAKo?! is a nostalgic account of his life in school. Throughout the book, Ong's renowned humor is well-spread. He has the ability of adding a humorous twist to any dismal event in his life in school, adding metaphors and funny lines to liven the book. Towards the end of the volume, he turns sentimental and serious, citing many things about school and life in general. In closing, he relates a visit to his alma mater—his reminiscing of years bygone, of events that have become no ...more

I remember I was depressed when I was reading this... I felt back then that everything wasn't working for me. So I went to the bookstore and looked for a book that could possibly make me laugh. I chose this book because it was the book that most of my classmates have already read and enjoyed. After reading a few pages, I find his anecdotes and descriptions amusing. I was pausing to laugh at each page. I can relate to him and it made me feel good. I think every Filipino middle-class will find fam ...more

Try and try until you succeed. Experience is the best teacher. Time is gold. Honesty is the best policy. Be the best of what you are. He who opens a school door, closes a prison. No man is an island. Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere. The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shoreline of wonder. The eyes is the reflection of your soul.

Have you remembered everything that was listed above, the clas

I read it in one sitting, this is a very short book but full of sense I described it as "short but meaty." I really enjoyed this book a lot because it's not only damn funny but heck I can relate to his story. i studied in a day care when I was in kindergarten, I studied in a public elementary and high school. Now I'm studying in De La Salle University-HSI and starting to feel the burden of college life though it's really fun to be in college.

I also believe in education shapes a society. I think

This is a light, entertaining book about Bob Ong's time spent in school. I read this in one sitting but somehow my head felt fuller because it shows you interesting perspectives of looking at school. Underneath the signature Bob Ong humor were a lot of lessons about life, which perpetually makes reading his books interesting.

I've read all of Bob Ong's published book except for this one. I am glad I've read this last because I'm not disappointed. Bob Ong's narration of his childhood, particularly his school days, did well. I believe every Pinoy would have at least one participation in this book in a sense that they will think it is their story. Because it's mine. Same as it is yours.Bob Ong's trademark of not using formal words made this realistic and very Pinoy.

Less than 24 hrs natapos ko. Yahoo!

I remembered the first time I stumbled upon this book on my friend's desk. Upon reading the first few pages, I just couldn't wait to finish it. It kept me wanting more and more. I was grade six back then and though some of the parts (like college stuff) I still couldn't relate to back then, I still find myself thinking about it. and now that I'm already in college, I'd say that reading this book made me "ready" of what to expect. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone! It has humor but will sti ...more

This was the second time I read the book. It made me laugh the first time, bringing me back to my school days.
Some might think this book is just a recounting of Bob Ong's days at school, filled with recounted funny moments and hilarious insights, written to make the readers laugh. But it actually spurred my love for teaching! Even if you are not a teacher, this book will make you look at students, and their future role in the community, differently. This book will also make you look at the teac

it's my first bob ong. and it's been almost 3 years since i've read it. natapos ko to nang isang upuan lang. i studied in a public elementary school like bob ong did and perhaps that's the reason i was so fond of this book. i totally relate to it. the sad part is: knowing that we also experienced the same classroom conditions even he's years ahead of me. hmmm... i think the government should really pay close attention on the conditions of public schooling.

This was the first book I had read by Ong and I really loved it. I guess I was a high school freshman back then and I really enjoyed this book. As usual, Ong wrote with his usual witty style of writing. In a way, I can very much relate with his stories and I took interest with his school day stories. At the same time, I felt a bit sad when I encountered the part when he visited the school he graduated in. That was really nostalgic.

It makes me think about my own childhood, mainly because the author mentioned here stuffs which i can relate with especially the scenes inside a class room and the type of classmates. He captured the minds of the young and young at heart.
