I read this as an e-book and additionally listened to the audio, which really seemed to make the book more engaging. I would use this book for forth grade and younger when they are learning about the Oregon Trail. I would especially use it for the girls in the class because they are wanting the reader to take on the role of the main character who is a mother and wife.
This was a cute read; however very busy. I think the cartoon like characters will be very engaging to kids. I do think that there are better books out there to teach kids about the Oregon Trail or traveling cross country in the 1800's.
