This book will somehow always keep its secrets from me - the other culture which can't be decrypted completely -. The sensation left is that "maybe" I might be able to realize a life within and between two worlds ... the way Özdamar confuses me and shuts me out by using the german language, mixing it up with turkish and arabic vocabulary to present "her" universe.
Somehow particular, somehow special. Mutterzunge is a book written in german in which the only german detail is the narrative language. Wonderful short-stories not about the turkish culture but in its world.
