Jeremy has never been one for breaking the rules, then again he has never had anything like Madison to tempt him to break them. With a little persistence and some creativity Madison knows she can get Jeremy to let go of some of that control he holds on to so tightly and take a chance on breaking the rules.

Jeremy is as honorable and controlled as they come. It is what helped to make him a good marine; one that his father can be proud o...more

I would give this a 3 1/2 star rating with some explanation. I really enjoy the author's writing style and her humor. However, the hero is a dumbass. He has a "code" he's sticking to throughout the story, though he refuses to talk to his fellow soldier and friend to find out if this self imposed rule is even a reality. I felt as if this "code" and his denial were simply excuses for treating Madison badly because of his fears. He considers her a good friend, but yet he hurts her over and over wit...more

THE OFFICER BREAKS THE RULES by Jeanette Murray is an exciting Contemporary Romance.Book 2 in the "Semper Fi" series, but can be read as a stand alone. See,"The Officer Says I Do". Meet Madison O'Shay,a Navy Nurse and Captain Jeremy Phillips,a Marine. Follow them on a sea of emotional drama with Captain Jeremy not sure he wants to stay in the Marines and Madison not leaving the Navy for man or beast. While, Jeremy has "Daddy" issues, Madison knows what she wants and goes after it. This is a sweet...more

I have yet to pick up a book by Ms. Murray and not completely fall in love with it. The Officer Breaks the Rules is her latest in the Semper Fi series. I absolutely couldn’t wait for this to release so I could keep up with the characters we met in the first book. Let me just say, it was worth the wait.

I have mentioned before that I’m always drawn to the books with the brother’s best friend and sister getting involved. I’m not sure why that type of forbidden romance intrigues me...more

Okay kids! Fasten your safety belts, its going to be a bumpy ride. We meet Mad Madison O'Shay, sister of the hero, in book one, 'The Officer Says I Do'. She's gutsy and sweet and she has her eye set on a certain Marine officer who happens to be her brother's best friend and the most moody, but delicious man she knows. Jeremy Phillips is equally attracted to Mad, but he's determined not to let her get under his skin for reasons of his own (yeah, good luck with that, buddy). They shared a kiss at...more

If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun. – Katharine Hepburn

Like his Marine brethren, Captain Jeremy Phillips follows the rules – in the corps, with his friends, and for his family. But underneath the duty, honor, and country, Jeremy has other dreams … dreams of life outside the Marines and kisses with Madison O’Shay.

Madison is a Navy nurse who has been dreaming of Jeremy for a long time. She launches her own campaign to win Jeremy’s heart, turning into a tug of war with him as he conside...more

It was one of those, oh no I can't! You are my best friend's little sister! Honestly men, get over yourselves. If my brother had a trouble with who I was seeing I would tell him to suck it. Still a little drama is always good in books ;)

Both Jeremy and Madison are in the military. Which is of course also a problem. They could be stationed on opposition ends of the world. And yes he is bff with her brother. He is also having some issues with what to do with his life, and Maddie, well she just wan...more

Captain Jeremy Phillips is the best friend of Captain Timothy O'Shay. Madison O'Shay is Tim's little sister. While both of them have feelings for one another, Jeremy is bound and determined to not cross the best friend line and make moves on his best friend's sister. But when he's constantly around Maddy, it's hard to deny the attraction he has for her or the feelings he has. Jeremy must make the decision about what he wants to do, before Maddy drives him crazy.

I was looking forward to this stor...more

Madison has always known what she wanted. She joined the Navy, became a nurse, and enjoys her career. But Jeremy Phillips still alludes her. It seems the one man she wants is determined to stick to his rule: Never date your best friend's sister. Try, try as he might, though, Madison is getting under his skin. In the game of love, sometimes you have to break the rules.

To be completely honest, at first I thought Madison to be a tad immature and very manipulative. It didn't take long for me to chan...more

Jeremy has had a thing for his best friend’s sister for years. They kissed once and he refuses to take things any further, making sure they stay friends and that’s it. Madison’s having none of it and sets out to get her man. She tries everything, being sexy around him, trying to make him jealous with a fake boyfriend (who happens to be her close, gay friend), she finds every excuse she can to be around him and alone with him and he holds st...more

**My FULL REVIEW here**

Book two brings us Madison and Jeremy's story. I was soooo looking forward to this book, as I loved Madison in The Officer Says I Do, however, upon reading the book I felt a bit let down. Don't get me wrong, the book IS good (and quite sexy), but it was just way too predictable. There really were no surprise elements.

Madison is sick and tired of hearing "no" from Jeremy. It is obvious that he feels the same way about her as she does about him, so what on earth is keeping...more

I really wanted to like this book I have not read the first book in the series but for some reason this book and the blurb just really interested me. Well, first looks can be deceiving because this book and I had some serious issues.

I will start with the characters. Madison is a good character, I quite liked her she was bubbly and fun but where Jeremy is concerned she could be a little too much to handle. The girl does not know when to give up and to be honest I wasn’t sure why she w...more

My Review:
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but wasn't sure if that would continue because so much of what I liked in the first book was so heavily story-based. Luckily, this book lived up to my expectations. It was really good and entertaining.

At the heart of this book is Madison and Jeremy. Madison probably gets more face time in this book, but truly this is a book about Jeremy. Jeremy is the only child of a retired Marine. His mom died when he was four and it's only been the two...more

So apparently there is a book before this one & I'm sooo going to have to get it and the one after this?? Yes I NEED that one I can't wait to dive in. Navy Nurse Mad has been in love with Marine Jeremy ever since her brother brought him home from basic training many years ago. But how does she show her brother's best friend that loving her doesn't break the rules??

I enjoyed the role reversal of the story. And that Madison didn't have to compromise her career, I loved it!! This story was funn...more

Captain Jeremy Phillips has a couple of problems. His first problem is that he lives his life to impress his father instead of living it for himself to be happy. Making his father happy requires him staying in the Marine Corp and signing his commitment papers for the next three years. Jeremy has dreams of his own though. He's been writing this book in his spare time. It started out as his hobby, but with every page he writes he wonders if...more

After reading previous book which I loved, I was anticipating for this one. Sadly, it wasn't what I was expecting. Frankly if it weren't for small part on Dwayne and Veronica, I'd give this book 3 stars.

A lot of frustrations going on in the story. Jeremy and Madison are interested with each other but something hold Jeremy to take one step further. A huge life decision is one part of it. And Madison is just so pushy to make the two of them work. I felt it wasn't right although I admired he...more

I loved how we got to see so much of the characters we met in book one. And, I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Dwayne and Veronica in book three.

If you are looking for sexy, edgy, gripping series that will keep you invested and turning pages, look no further. You will absolutely love this one.

The Officer Breaks the Rules is the second installment in Jeanette Murray’s delightful Semper Fi series. Jeremy Phillips and Madison O’Shay’s are friends whose unexpected attraction to one another proves to be as irresistible as it is complicated. To read my review in its entirety, please click HERE.

".....Good Lord…I loved every minute of this book. The push and pull between Madison and Jeremy was delectable! Madison is an amazing heroine. She’s strong willed and went for the prize, consequences be damned! She is exactly my kind of gal. Jeremy broke my heart and was a hero so worth fighting for. He’s the kind of guy that puts those he loves ahead of himself and always thinks of himself second. He’s loyal and kind-he...more

This was a highly anticipated read for me. I love Ms. Murray and her books! I had mixed feelings throughout this book. Jeremy was a frustrating character for me, almost hard to like at times. BUT- much further into the story we find out his conflict and why he continuously (kind of) holds himself back from Madison. And God Bless Madison, she knew how deep he could get into his own head and she knew when to let him be.

And then we have Dwayne and Veronica getting to know each other via Skype whil...more

Spectacular story. I was so excited to get a copy of this book and waited waaaay to long to read it, but I'm glad I did, because now I don't have quite as long until the next book comes out. If you haven't read Jeanette Murray yet, read this series!

I was not too sure about this book when I started it but I was quickly hooked. The want between Madison and Jeremy was great. The fact that he keeps fighting it when he really just wanted to give in was very enjoyable. I love the big brother Tim and his reaction on the relationship.

Great romance!!! Madison and Jeremy have danced around their feelings for each other for ages...it's time to try to take it to the next level!! I loved reading their story! Can't wait for the next book in this series!!
