Braine's Talk Supe review

I've read King of Darkness a while back and I must say that I instantly fell in love with Elisabeth Staab's characters, world and writing voice. The story as a whole is easy to get into, uncomplicated but not without substance, sexy and very entertaining. Some readers have compared Chronicles of Yavn to that other popular modern vampire series set in Caldwell, New York and I have to agree that to a certain extent, Chronicles of...more

I have to admit that my favorite thing about this series thus far is the hero’s. Thad nor Anton was the perfect, can fix it all, alpha, mega hero. Anton has some major baggage. He was raised among the wizards and their evil ways. He has never known a loving touch. He has never been a part of a true team. He has never experienced any pleasantries. He does have the heart to know that what the wizards are doing to the vampire race is horrifyingly wrong. Anton has the courage to lead the vampires to...more

Prince of Power is the second book in the Chronicles of Yavn series, it picks up the plot threads let open in King of Darkness and runs with them. I enjoyed the first installment in the series but this book really blew me away! If you love a fast paced, action packed romance with a strong female and a softer caring male then this is one for you.

Tyra is Thad's older half sister- half-human, half-vampire she's always been a little different from everyone else. She's a trained warrior who relishes...more

What it's about: Prince of Power is the second book in the Chronicles of Yavn. Wizards and Vampires have always been mortal enemies. Anton (the hero) has a last chance to steal the powers of Tyra (our heroine and a vampiress), but the electrifying chemistry between the two upon meeting has Anton thinking about other things. The two soon find that a connection like theirs can't be ignored, and they must trust one another to put an end to the war.

Why you should read it: I definitely recommend read...more

This is the second time I have read a book with my name as the heroines name and I have to say that I don't know how you people with slightly more common names than I have do it. I thought it would be cool but I found myself changing Tyra's name in my head when it came to the sex scenes. LOL Of course when she is kicking ass she is totally Tyra in my mind!

I love when an author can take a something like vampires which has really become common in the last several years and totally change the mytho...more

PRINCE OF POWER is a stellar paranormal romance with two unique leads and great world building that will keep me coming back to the series.

Book one of this series was good but this second book is great. The world building is strong and the war between the vampires and wizards is interesting and action packed. This book flies at super speed as Tyra and Anton fight the wizards after them and the vampires who hate Tyra for bringing a wizard into their midst. If the author keeps this attention to de...more

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle 3RD JANUARY 2013 :

RATING: 4.25 LEE, XANDER WITH A SIDE ORDER OF SIDDOH STARS!

If you like Black Dagger Brotherhood, then you are going to like the Chronicles of Yavn series. It’s still early days with this series. Prince Of Power is released on 8th January 2013. I love big characters who love as big as they soldier on, fighting for good against worthy villains. The Wizards are worthy villains. They know how to take down vampires.

I am really enjoying the different persona...more

Prince of Power by Elisabeth Staab, sequel of King of Darkness, one of my favorite new PNR series! Discovered in 2012, I had to learn what’s happening in this sequel, I wasn’t disappointed…

I was so excited when I knew that the sequel of Chronicles of Yavn would be on Tyra and Anton that I couldn't pass over the chance to read and enjoyed it, of course!!!

The first book in this series was so refreshing: it's taking a new turn in vampires’ stories: mixing up paranormal aspect such as vampires with...more

My recap:

Vampires and wizards are mortal enemies, as wizards kill vampires, eat their hearts, and thus gain the vampire's powers. Anton, son of the Master of the wizards, has spent his life doing his best to avoid the heinous acts of his people. When he is tasked with watching Tyra—the half-vampire sister of the King of the Vampires—and kidnapping her, he falls in love with her instead. He is beaten by his father, cast out, and left for dead. But Tyra is still in danger from the wizards.

This is the second book in the Chronicles of Yavyn series and follows King of Darkness. I was so looking forward to this book and the story of Anton and Tyra and I will say…Elisabeth friggin nailed it!

We first meet Anton and Tyra in King of Darkness and this book picks up where we had left off.

Vampires and Wizards have always been at war. However it is at this juncture that things have reached a critical point. Anton is the son of the...more

Book 2 of the Chronicles of Yavn series by Elisabeth Staab is a very much needed new twist on what I like to think of as the Vampire Phenomenon. There are similarities and there are not to the traditional vampire stories we are used to and the differences are a welcome and creative change.
Prince of Power pretty much picks up right where King of Darkness left off. Tyra vampire soldier and sister to the King of Vampires is nearly killed in battle and when she wakes nearly two weeks later she finds...more

Prince of Power starts where King of Darkness left off, I suggest it be read in order as you might be lost if you didn't read King of Darkness. This book is Anton (son of Wizard Master) and Tyra (half sister of Thad).
Anton is hurt, nearly killed by his own father for failure. You know what they say the Enemy of My Enemy is my friend. This is Anton he is the Son of the Vampires most hated Enemy and he is trying to Save them Tyra in particular.
Tyra is a kick ass heroine (which i just love) she ha...more

How annoying. I really, really wanted to like this. The first book, King of Darkness, was very promising. I enjoyed it, even though it had some issues, and the author spent a lot of pages setting up a story for the following book that I absolutely loved. I was intrigued by both Anton, the 'good' son of the evil wizard, who wants nothing to do with his family's fight against the vampires, and Tyra, the king's sister, whose role as a powerful warrior is not questioned by the male vampires. It was...more

I thought that book one King of Darkness was very good but this second book of the series Prince of Power is wonderful. The world building is so very strong, giving you so much more of the background of the war between the wizards and vampires and the action scenes are great, because you have the impression that these scenes could end with the evil guys winning, so you are really kept on the edge of your seat. The romance is the best part of this book with the main characters overcoming the huge...more

Originally published at Book Lovers Inc.

What if Romeo and Juliet had way more serious reasons not to be together than a mere "family feud" but still managed to end in, if not happily ever after, at least, happy for now?

That's somewhat the premise of Elisabeth Staab's Prince of Power, the second book in her Chronicles of Yavn series.

Her Romeo, or rather, the prince on one side of this equation, is the son of the head wizard from King of Darkness. Poor Anton, he should have been born human. Or vam...more

WOW! The second book in Elisabeth Staab's amazing series. This book was full of action and surprises. Every time something big happened, I expected things to start winding down for the end of the book, but it didn't. I'd say at least 5 times I thought the book was almost over, until I realized I still had quite a bit left and there was another surprise thrown at me. I love the characters in this series! The main ones in this book are Anton and Tyra. I found it refreshing that they were not the t...more

Another winner in this series.
I seriously loved Anton. He's gone to hell at the hand of his father and he's come out the other side, only to find the love of his life, who is suppose to be his enemy.
I loved Anton and Tyra...I loved their struggle, their deep emotions, and their level of commitment to each other.
Fast paced, action packed page turner.
Keep em coming Ms. Staab...
I love spending time with your vampires.
Highly Recommend.

Prince of Power by Elisabeth Staab, sequel of King of Darkness, was GREAT! Book 1 in the series King of Darkness was good, 2nd book Prince of Power knocked my socks off. Love the battle between the Vampires and Wizards and bringing Anton in the fold made it all the more exciting.

Definately looking forward to book 3 in the series.

Book 2 did not disappoint, this was just as exciting as book 1 and I'm really looking to read book 3. Can't wait to see what happens with Lee.

Love Elisabeth Staab. Wish there were more Anton's.

This was a good follow-up to King of Darkness. I like how she brought this story with the wizards and vampires. I like how this story was about Thad's sister Tyra and a master wizard's son Anton. I like how she explains that vampires and wizards are mortal enemies and why.

In the beginning Tyra fought the wizards and Anton was tasked with draining her of her powers and then killing her. But when Anton finally meets Tyra face to face he begins to reevaluate everything that he has ever been taught....more

I love this series & the way it's written. For instance, book 1 was about Thad & Isabel.... Book 2 was about Anton & Tyra, however, there are all of these stories happening in the background with other characters that keep readers interested to know what's going to happen to them next. So, we have Lee & Alexia... Then, there's Xander & Teresa that are teeter-totting around getting involved with each other, but have so much baggage, won't give into the temptation. I love it &...more

So first things first, when I picked up this book I didn’t realize that it was the second in the series. I should have checked on that before I requested it. I have not read the first book of the series and that put me at a disadvantage while reading this book. We are thrown into the action from the beginning, I assume pretty much where the first book left off. Eventually most of the questions that were floating around in my head while reading were answered it just took a while to get there. So...more

I enjoyed the first book in this series, but wasn't sure what to expect with the second. Both Anton and Tyra were introduced in the first book and got a fair amount of page time. However, in the second book, the author really fleshes them out. In the first book, Anton falls in love with Tyra from afar. He's drawn to her both by her strength and her compassion for others. He had a horrible childhood and his father is the evil head wizard (wizards are all evil and are the enemies of vamps in this...more

Its been a while since I read King of Darkness and Prince of Power starts right where it left off. I'm not a fan of info dumps and thankfully Ms. Staab doesn't fall victim to the let-me-tell-you-everything-you-missed-in-the-last-book folly, but she also doesn't drop enough hints in the start of the book to help fill in the backstory organically, and I found my...more

Actually 4.5
In a world where wizards and vampires are mortal enemies, Anton, son of the wizard leader, doesn't quite fit in. When Anton is given the assignment to kidnap, absorb the powers, and kill the vampire king's sister, Tyra, he can't bring himself to do the dastardly dead. Instead, Anton saves Tyra and watches over her until she is safe. Now, Anton and Tyra are in great danger from the wizards, and the vampires aren't going to accept a wizard in their midst meekly, and to top all of this,...more

Elisabeth Staab digs coffee, saucy stories, and sexy things that go bump in the night. Once, she ate dinner in a jail and liked it. She lives in the Washington DC area with her incredible family and does her best to juggle life while ignoring the laundry.
