Seldom do I find a book that I feel is just about perfect, but Snowfall definitely fits the criteria. Set in Victorian England, it tells the story of a girl who had nothing: no freedom, no opportunities, nothing, but still finds a way to forge a path for herself through life.

Charlotte, an orphan who has long lived with her grandfather, is to be wed to a man she doesn't like (let alone love)when she finds a way out of it by telling her grandfather that she has been invited to spend som More...

Fluffy and idealistic, with a heavy-handed dose of teenage romance. I went on a "let's re-read books I liked as a kid" spree last year with mixed results and this was one of them. It's sort of a modern-day commune set in a Victorian setting, which will automatically appeal to me but I will be the first to admit that it's not exactly fiction for the ages.

I'm still not even halfway through this book, but over and over again, I'm amazed that this book was found on the juvenile fiction shelf in the public library. This is almost like a trashy bodice ripper. I'm only reading it because a girl in my class told me it was one of the most romantic books she'd ever read. I'd imagine so since she's only 11! There's promiscuity, unwed pregnancy, and sexual longing... totally beyond my comprehension how this would be classified as juvenile fiction.

ENGAGING BOOK! Several handsome guys involved. Heroine is strong and beautiful, but eager to travel and spread her wings having lived a very sheltered life. She's not perfect and ends up with tricky situations. SOMEWHAT UNPREDICTABLE, BITTER-SWEET ENDING..

I didn't think I'd like this book when I started it , but I was pleasantly surprised esp. with the way it ended . It was a really cute book if a little dragged out , it took me a week or two to get through it taking breaks .. worth it though . (:

A victorian romance that takes the characters out of victorian era social norms. Friends escape their mundane lives and humdrum futures by mountian climbing. Many of the characters are not in high society which is rare in a victorian romance.

I Literature-mapped Rosamunde Pilcher and this is what they gave me. In 1890 based on a true story of twenty-four year olds climbing. An avalanche killed a male. The story is fifty years later and the females point of view. The body was preserved in ice.

I was pleasantly surprised with my $1.98 impulse buy at a half-price book store. This was good, solid writing although the story failed to develop in the middle of the book. I was shocked to find this was a juvenile fiction book.

This book wasen't that great. It was hard to understand and very confusing. I got bored with it. I would not read it if I were you. I am so glad I finally finished it.

This book has a lot of mountain climbing in the Alps. It has a sad ending in a way that she took from a historical account that is very unusual. Unless you have a mature teen I am not sure you want them reading this. There is no sexual content except for hand holding and kissing. There are adult theme's of a maid getting pregnant and one of the male characters having a relationship with another mans wife.

Highly enjoyable drama/romance. The plot is a little meandering at points, but it didn't bother me significantly. I appreciated that the ending was not "everything-tied-up-neatly-in-the-end-with-a-pink-bow", and that the fact that not everyone falls in love and that not all love is perfect or neat was addressed.

This is an incredible book. I couldn't stop thinking about it for months after I read it. It's adventure, romance, coming-of-age, and a little mystery all wrapped into one.

I read this book a long time ago but loved it. It's a teen novel but well written. About a girl who travels to the mountains.
