This is a collective review for the first four books in the series.

Books like these make me want to smash my head on the wall repetitively because I cannot, just cannot, understand WHY this book has such high rating.

*bangs her head on the wall again*

I could not, at any given point in the story, understand Snow's reactions to events. How can somebody be so clueless? Really - the girl has no freaking idea what is going on and all explanations given to her ends up with her exploding off in

Read this in the Passionate Bites: Hot Tales of Vampire Romance anthology. Blood and Snow is a unique blending of the Snow White fairy tale and a vampire romance... I am in for the next one! :-)

The challenge is determining what the next one is. The series isn't organized in GR. It was apparently first published as a serial, parts of which have been compiled into books or seasons. Book 1 is a compilation of Volumes 1 through 8. I need to find a reading order or guide...

This was my face during this whole thing starting from the very first lines:

I know many people enjoyed this, but I'm not sure this story is for me. It managed to do every single thing I hate about some YA novels, but the premise was interesting, which is about its only saving grace right now with me. I'm putting the rest of these books (novellas really) on the bottom of my TBR pile where I will wait for the day I feel compelled to continue this story. Hopefully later parts will make me forgive

Awful book. So many typos in it for it starters. Just another book about a teenage girl with low self esteem who all the other characters think is the next best thing since sliced bread, who then ends up being some lame supernatural chosen one. Vampire story was not interesting, and this is not a book for feminists. Snow makes out with one guy then repeatedly calls herself a slut because she likes a different guy. They also make a point of pointing out she dresses like a boy and how she should d ...more

Just in case anyone's curious as to why I'm putting this on my not my cuppa shelf - bad writing. Extremely bad writing. *sighs*

Kind of stinks because the idea behind the series is sound, but it just does nothing with that intrigue.

Where to start...I've written 3 reviews of this already, but Goodreads ate them all when I hit save, so I don't have the heart for another. I really kinda hated this, so much of it is illogical and makes zero sense, and the rest is comprised of fairly horrible characterization. Imagine Twilight's Bella as an even klutzier, super-tomboyish, sparkly vampire, and you have the premise of this book. Only instead of werewolves and vampires, you have the 7 dwarves reimagined as teenage boys and Cindere ...more

I got the first four volumes for free on my Kindle, eager to read it because I loved the concept and I’m really into these modern twists on fairytales that I’ve been seeing lately. But after finishing the first one, I was sorely disappointed. I think the only good thing I can say about it was that it so short that it didn’t take me long to get through.

The protagonist, Snow, is the classic insecure, helpless girl that everyone just seems to fall all over and all the guys lust after, but she doesn

I got this the other day from Amazon for free. I thought this could be perfect for some reasons. First, I’ve never read a vampire book aside from Twilight! I don’t know, nothing’s compelled me to do so, yet. Second, I’ve never read a fairy tale retelling! I know, I’m missing a lot, aren’t I? And, of course, it’s free! So, I say, go for it!

I decided to read it while having a break from Norwegian Wood and 1984 (my current reads). I thought it’s perfect since it’ll be a fast read. Indeed, it is. Bu

This is not a book. This is a collection of some halfway thought out ideas for a new take on the vampire genre and put together as little short stories that together, sort of add up to a full book, except for the fact that things happen constantly in it with no rhyme or reason. There is no clear rise and fall of the action. The first four pieces were disjointed and confusing with far more questions being asked and never answered, but not in a good way. The cliffhanger ending is just sort of abru ...more

If you enjoy the sound of nails scratching the blackboard you have a chance at reading more than ten pages of this book. Seeing as how I'm not a fan of books grating on my nerves I was unable to pass the challenge.

If I were to pinpoint the main problem, it would probably be the protagonist being called Snow White in a non-fairytale setting. I wouldn't mind if that was her nickname, however, ten pages into the story and I still don't know what to call the girl apart from the obvious.

I used "whispersync" to get through this story. While physically reading this book, it wasn't too bad. However, while listening to this book, it was horrendous. The narrator was so terrible she killed momentum, entertainment, and my interest. I should have just continued to read it, but I wanted to get it wrapped up.

As for the story itself, it wasn't awful. I don't think it quite reached it's potential, but it is a series, and it needs to keep readers coming back after each installment. The stor

With this only being a series of short books this really does need to capture your interest straight away which it kind of did but it did take awhile to actually get to the point of the story which was a shame but maybe the next book will be better. I loved the idea of having the re-telling involving vampires but I did feel disappointed with the vampire side not coming until very close to the end. Instead of a book I felt like it was one long chapter just getting us introduced to everything and ...more

Salem, Massachusetts is a place where magic is expected to happen. But the uniquely named Snow White never imagines that such things will happen to her. Sure, she's constantly reminded of her fairy tale name, and it doesn't help that she has seven best guy friends. Her sixteenth birthday is rapidly approaching, and her weird dreams of being bitten by a vampire and eating a heart are only dreams.... Right?

I purchased this YA read on Amazon the other day on a whim. It starts off slow, however, Workman offers new tidbits of info at just the right moments to maintain a steady flow. The pace is perfect. And there is always a new element being dropped into the storyline, making it much more complex than originally anticipated.

My not-so-likes:
-I feel like the character Snow should be a little older. Maybe eighteen, but not fifteen. It just doesn't seem to fit that well. I still think her home life and

RaShelle Workman is one of my favorite authors. When I heard that she had a new series coming out, I moved up to the top of my to-read list. It definitely didn't disappoint. The book was a mix of Snow White and paranormal romance. It had the seven "dwarves", an evil queen, and a few other things that made it like the original Snow White. The book also had vampires in it, which created a nice twist. Only one thing disappointed me about the book. I wish Cindy would have been in it more. She is Sno ...more

This was okay.

It seems a little harsh to say that I didn't really get a good feel for the characters in the short length I was given, but... well, I didn't really get a good feel for the characters in the short length I was given. I do want to read more and I've already started the second novella, though.

When I first started this, I thought it would be a bit more adult than it is. I don't have a problem with YA lit at all, which is what this clearly is, but from the first lines the characters

So this was pretty bad. The writing was less than impressive and I'm pretty tired of this trend where the main character argues with herself in her head. It's all kinds of Anastasia Steele and it's annoying. Things got sidetracked, the characters were pretty boring and I felt like nothing was really explained even when they were explaining things. I was not impressed. It was too much like fanfiction meets Twilight meets Disney. Maybe others would like it better, but I'm all about Grimm Fairytale ...more

Definitely interesting. I like that some aspects of the fairytale are incorporated into this series. For instance Snow White's best friends are seven guys that live next door and a girl named Cindy who seems a lot like Cinderella. Surprisingly I think that the vampire idea works really well for Snow White's story. And what Cindy ends up being is a nice twist on Cinderella. I think that this would have been better as a novel and I wish the author would have taken the time to make that happen. But ...more

This book is a retelling of the Snow White story where Snow White is a (soon to be) vampire. I got the first four "books" in one volume as part of a free giveaway on bookbub, so I figured I'd check it out.

Things I liked: the vampires drink blood and don't sparkle. The vampires are not necessarily good people. The Christopher character was interesting; I don't know what side he's on or what his end game is. The author raised plot questions I wanted to know the answer to/how they would turn out. I

What I love about the ebook pack is that it has all 12 volumes in one book. It's so convienent! It was like having 12 installments or novellas all in one. It kind of reminded me of watching a 30 minute tv show. You could read one part in no time at all but it was still more than just reading a few chapters of a book. I liked having stopping points. I felt like I was reading a whole book, which is pretty impressive seeing that each novella is about 50 pages or less.

Not bad. Different than what I'd expected. Though I sort of like that. However, I won't continue reading the series until it's done. With a novel I can do it, because the book has enough meat to keep me guessing, but these novelletes are just too short for me to have to wait months in between to just learn one new thing. So I'll wait till the series wraps before I come back for more. However, I really did enjoy this read. Workman is an author I'll keep a look out for in the future.

I was so confused. There's the mc, her female best friend, her 7 male best friends and the new boy in school. At no point did I know who was who. Gave up at 12% before more characters came in to the story and pushed me over the edge. I wasn't really feeling the story either but I'm not sure if that was because it wasn't great writing or if I was just too confused. I'm sure some people would be less confused and enjoy it but it's not for me.

I felt there was a lot missing from this book, though there were several really good, creepy moments. I severely disliked the main character though and how the writer keeps repeating how ugly she thinks she is when she really is gorgeous etc. The mythology was very fragmented as well and needed a lot of unpacking. Yet, it was a mostly ok novelette and I must say I enjoyed reading it.

P.S. The thing with the names, thoug? Very obvious.

First and foremost, book 1 of this series is honestly more of an overlong prologue than a stand-alone book. The book is made up of several parts that are also sold separately as novellas, though I honestly have to say that the separate parts don’t have a lot of a plot structure when you look at them individually. The plot of book 1 in general feels like the first act of a bigger story, without any kind of proper conclusion or even heightening conflict in it. Though it was entertaining enough, I’ ...more

This book is badly written. I have never read a book with worse grammar.
This book changes tactics a million times. First it's her romantic life, then all the sudden she's hanging out with the vampire queen, then all the sudden she's saving her mom? Um...that is not random AT ALL.

Snow White and her 7 best friends

I thoroughly enjoyed this book..I always loved the fairytale Snow White and the 7 dwarves. This book is a new twist on the fairytale. Snow White as a vampire. This book has non-stop action, magic, boy drama and first crush. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading. This book is a great read. It's also a series and I can't wait to read the next book.

“I’ve had several seriously sexual daydreams about the new guy. Have you seen him?” “Cin, I didn’t need to know that.” I jammed my math book into my backpack and slammed the locker door. Cindy rested her petite frame against the locker next to mine. Her radiant baby blues twinkled. “No, I haven’t seen him. Apparently he’s . . . cute?” I asked. She snorted. “Cute? No! He isn’t a kitten. He’s hot, sexier than hell, and has a voice that could melt chocolate.” 1 likes
