Twilight Hunter (Execution Underground #1)
Jace McCannon has one loyalty: the Execution Underground. Despite his mixed blood, his hatred for the werewolves he hunts is legendary. But in his search for a sadistic killer, Jace finds himself face to face with a s...more
Coming off the high of SHADOW HUNTER, TWILIGHT HUNTER, the first full novel in the Execution Underground series, had a lot to live up to. Unfortunately, Jace and Frankie just didn’t do it for me in the way that Damon and Tiffany did, though I did enjoy the book. If you were looking for any kind of resolution of the cliffhanger that SHADOW HUNTER left us with, don’t pick up TWILIGHT HUNTER expecting any answers. What you will find, however, is a hot rom...more
A bad book dazzles you with it's bullshit.
Following a common theme in mysteries, women are turning up mutilated and raped posthumously. Our bull of a hero (not literally, folks), Jace, is on the villain's trail, tracking the murders through the street of Rochester. Jace works for a division of the Execution Underground (aside: my favorite part of this book was probably that name), specializing in the slaughter of werewolves des...more
Set up, this book has a grisly start, a mutilated body, one of many and jace is there to find clues to the sicko killer. Someone else is lurking about too though!

Great start to a series featuringass kickingband of brothers in arm hunting supernaturals.
Plot and Characters:
Jace is our hero. He's the best werewolf hunter on the East coast. His secret is that he has a nose for tracking wolves. Literally. Only one other member of the Execution Underground knows Jace is a werewolf half-breed. His mother was human and his father a werewolf. Thanks to Jace's abusive father he hates werewolves. That is until he meets our heroine, Frankie.
Twilight Hunter has a interesting world, even if not much in it is fresh or new. If you want to be positive you can say that, even if the world-building is very light, this same "lack" avoided the info-dumps or the lull that the first books in a new series usually suffer from.
I loved the first half, but I was growing more and more bored with the second. There are so many time that the misunderstanding trope can be used before it became stale. Here it was used every few chapters, creating a v...more
Kait Ballenger delivers a sexy romance with plenty of suspense and humor in the latest addition to the Execution Underground series!
As a member of the Execution Underground, bad boy and half-breed Jace McCannon lives to hunt and kill werewolves. While tracking a vicious killer on assignment, he encounters a beautiful alpha female werewolf and goes against everything he stands for when he lets her live and brings her to his home. Frankie isn’t just...more
Ms. Ballenger did not disappoint. After reading Shadow Hunter (Execution Underground #0.5), I was anxious and excited to get to this installment. Ms. Ballenger’s introduction to this series was remarkable. Twilight Hunter has a gripping story line with nonstop action, suspenseful twists, and well developed characters. Just like its prequel, Twilight Hunter was an awesome read.
Left with no choice, Jace is forced to work with the very beings he hunts. There is a mystery to be solved , and this se...more
My English review
I’ve read the Kait Ballenger’s novella before having the opportunity to read the first novel and I admit that I was curious to see how the story would be. Yes I was looking forward to see if I would find the characters I met in the first volume but eventually I completely forgot the novella when started.
Jace is a hunter pursuing rogues werewolves, yet he is himself hybrid and would be killed if his partners learn the truth about him. However, he enjoys his j...more

Where the Night Kind Roam
Another great book from Kait Ballenger! TWILIGHT HUNTER is a sexy, dark, intriguing, action packed roller coaster ride of emotion and hard hitting action with a twist on my favorite supernatural species thrown in. The Execution Underground is an elite force to take out rogue supernaturals. Jace is the best werewolf hunter on the east coast, but this case is his hardest yet. Women are dying, and dying horrific death, mutilated beyond recogn...more

I had previously read Kait's E.U novella in After Dark and enjoyed it very much... rating it 5 stars. Therefore... I had high expectations for this book and Kait certainly has not disappointed me. Shifters, romance, fights... the passion and thrills will keep you on the edge of your seat. Warning! This is not a book to read to lull yourself to sleep!

I have been anxiously waiting to read Twilight Hunter by Kait Ballenger and I knew I would not be disappointed at all because the minute I read the first page…I was captured into the Execution Underground world. I literally had a hard time putting down this book. My poor hubby and two girls were neglected for a day and a half because of reading Twilight Hunter. (I may have also snapped at the hubby when he tried to talk to me…he’s not talking right now beca...more

Jace is a were-hunter employed by the Execution Underground in their Rochester, NY region. The EU is a group of genetically enhanced men that function as supernatural experts and police. The Rochester team is on edge due to the presence of a supernatural serial killer who cannot be caught. Jace is the focus of much animosity from the region leader, Damon (who was...more
I can not say enough about how much I LOVED this book. In a genre where it can be hard to come up with something fresh, not to mention gripping and well- written, Ms. Ballenger has raised the bar.
I am a total fan girl!

This was absolutely awful!
Poor writing, weak plot and messed up characters. Really, I don't know if there is anything good in this book.
Jace, the hero, was an half-breed asshole with daddy issues, who kept taking it all out on Frankie, the heroine, just because she was a werewolf and his piece of shit father was a werewolf as well.
Guess what, bitch? You're half werewolf too!
It was beyond ridiculous the shit he threw Frankie's way because her race was the same as his father's. The man was garbag...more
Jace is one seriously bad-ass and tortured soul. He's a loner with a love for justice and the underdog, as well as a deep hate for werewolves. His latest case he's assigned to is gruesome and he almost positive the killer is a werewolf. He has a surprise waiting for him at the latest murder scene when he shows up. The biggest part of the surprise i...more
Twilight Hunter is book one in Kait Ballenger’s "Execution Underground" series. We have action, surprises, murder mystery and steaming up the bedroom romance. The plot is well done, fast passed, non-stop on the go action/adventure that I found myself drawn in and could not put this one down.
I liked Frankie she does not let anyone push her around. She is pack leader which is rear for a women to be in that high a position. As for Jace he has some major issues and I...more

what I did not like was that there were so many different perspectives. I love it when you can see things from the the male and female lead but in this book it was a bit much
all in all, if you like PR it is a good read
