My mother died from her first heart attack and my father from his second stroke so I have a high risk for both. I decided to check for anything that could help me understand causation, the tests and prevention. Especially, after I had a very high c-reactive protein result. This book has some good information based on putting together findings of other people's research. It tends to read like an infomercial (We'll get to that in a minute, I just wanted to mention it so that you'll keep reading.) The most interesting thing is that cholesterol is not the only factor in heart disease and there are other things that can be monitored by relatively inexpensive tests. I do wonder if the author has stock in vitamin supplement companies!
