حين قرأت الكتاب لأول مرة لم أستطع إكمال القراءة. حاولت مرة ثانية وثالثة ولا فائدة. حتى جاءت تلك اللحظة التي استطعت فيها معرفة أفكار باشلار وطريقته في الكتابة والتحليل النفسي للمادة. باشلار يكتب الفلسفة شعراً. هو يلجأ للشعر في تحليله للماء.
