David's a friend of mine, so my review is biased, but the book is a fun look at the early days of the dot-com bubble, when fortunes were to be made (nearly) overnight and California was where it was all happening. David manages to weave a good story around a media mogul, his frustrated son who wants -- and gets -- a chance to prove himself out from the patriarchal shadow, and a beautiful Japanese woman who knows where the future lies.
