This is not the first book I’ve read by Susan May Warren (I reviewed The Shadow of Your Smile earlier this year and loved that one!) and I highly doubt it will be the last. She has a beautiful way of drawing in the reader and enabling them to make connections to the characters in such a way that you are not only vested in the story, but desire to maintain that connection. This title is the 6th book of the Deep Haven series. I love knowing that beloved characters could make another appearance in...more

Did you ever wonder if you know someone in the Witness Protection program? Even if you do, you probably don’t know. Most likely they’ve kept that a well hidden secret. When Deidre O’Reilly created a new life as Annalise Decker, she buried her past and found a new life in a small, well hidden town. For twenty years, she concealed her identity from everyone, including her husband, children and mother-in-law. Then her worst possible fear came true. The drug dealer that she testified against is no l...more
YOU DON'T KNOW ME by Susan May Warren is another interesting "A Deep Haven" novel christian romance. It is book #6 in this series, but can be read as a stand alone. It has everything a reader could possibly want in a story, secrets, faith, healing, forgiveness, mystery, learning to trust again, and did I mention the Witness Security Program. Annalise Decker is a wife and mother,a PTA member but will her true identity come forth? She is really Deidre O'Reilly,a young lady who testified against a harden c...more

You Don't Know Me is another of Susan May Warren's Deep Haven books. I also read her The Shadow of your Smile book from the Deep Haven Series, and thoroughly enjoyed both.
Annalise Decker is the perfect wife, and mother. The model citizen. Her husband feels like because he hasn't had a perfect life that he needs her to be perfect, and really relies on her perfect persona to help clean up his tarnished past. However, he doesn't realize that hers is so much more tarnished, and coming back to haunt...more

This book should be made into a movie. In You Don’t Know Me, Susan May Warren takes the reader on an adventure through love, grace, and forgiveness. Her characters wrestle with their deepest, darkest secrets and will discover that life isn’t as bad as they think it will be if those secrets are exposed. There is great opportunity for the reader to grow along with her characters as the story progresses.

This book hooked me from the moment I began reading the prologue. It was written in such a way that for the first portion of the book, I wasn't even sure what was happening. In time, I picked up on enough of the author's hints that I figured out what was going on. The entire premise behind the book is somewhat intriguing.
Unfortunately, what began so well did not seem to end that way. Before long, I was able to figure out the entire story, and it just became the same, old recycled Christian conte...more

Susan May Warren in her new book “You Don’t Know Me” Book Six in the Deep Haven series published by Tyndale House Publishers takes us to the turbulent Roaring Twenties.
From the back cover: The secret she’s kept to protect her family could be the very thing that tears them apart.
To all who know her, Annalise Decker is a model wife and mother. She’s a permanent member of the PTA, never misses a sporting event, and is constantly campaigning for her husband’s mayoral race.

(If you read my review of other Susan MaeyWarren books, like Book #5 in the Deep Haven Series, The Shadow of Your Smile, and others (you can search my blog for other Susan May Warren books I’ve reviewed) you’ll know that I enjoy her books. This book was no different although it illicited some different feelings – it isn’t your typical lovey dovey, married life is grand, motherhood is joyful platitudes but real life. I always enjoy Susan May Warren's writing, and this book is no exception. With a story line that could have been ripped from today's headlines, Warren takes her readers deep into the life of Annalise Decker, a woman whose very life depends on secrets being kept, and when those secrets are exposed, her life and the life of her beloved family are in danger!

Annalise lives an ideal life as a wife and mother. Her husband is running for mayor of the small town they live in. She is very involved in her children's school and also in the community. All of that is turned upside down when her past resurfaces and puts the people she loves and the life they share in danger.
Annalise is actually in the witness protection program due to testifying against a murderer. Her problem is two-fold: she has never told her family about her past and the man she testified...more

I am a big fan of Susan May Warren and have read 7 of her books. I think this is her best one yet!
I can not think of a single thing wrong with this book. I was hooked after reading the prologue. Half way through the first chapter I said out loud "Wow, this book is gonna be good." I read the whole book sitting on the edge of my seat. I read the last 50 pages with tears in my eyes and my hand covering my mouth - sitting on the edge of my seat! Susan May Warren wrote another great novel for her Deep Haven series. I appreciate that she weaves in the other characters we have gotten to know in past books. I just sometimes forget their back stories...but it's great just the same.

Annalise Decker has it all - a loving husband, three great kids, the respect of everyone in Deep Haven, and a deep secret that could blow it all apart. Annalise has only been Annalise for twenty years. Previously, she was Deidre O'Reilly, drug addict and runaway. After nearly dying and then then testifying against a drug dealer, Annalise left St. Louis for Deep Haven and Annalise arrived for a fresh start. It didn't take long for everything in her life to begin to go right. Nathan Decker asked h...more
A gripping novel with the struggle of the human condition woven through the story and characters. A home town that draws the reader in and a story I couldn’t help but want to see resolved to a happily ever after. “You Don’t Know Me” is a gripping marvel of strong storytelling and solid characters that beg to have their story told in the way that has put Warren on the Christian fiction map.

have not read all of the Deep Haven novels by Susan May Warren, but I have now read three of them: My Foolish Heart, The Shadow of Your Smile, and this one. Oh, and a novella that took place in Deep Haven - Hook, Line, & Sinker.

Annalise Decker has her act together. She has great kids, she makes great cookies, she's at every sports game and has been the backbone to her husband's race for mayor in the small town of Deep Haven. With her long blonde hair and fabulous looks, most of the women envy her life, but what the women and even her own husband don't know is that before she moved to Deep Haven twenty years ago, she was a young drugged out teen named Deidre O'Reilly who lived on the streets with her boyfriend and sold...more
I am a die-hard Susan May Warren fan -- and she keeps upping her game with every book.
You Don't Know Me packed a strong emotional punch, as I turned pages, wondering what I would do if I was Annalise Decker, the heroine of the book. What would I do if my life was turned upside down when it was revealed that it wasn't the truth? Would I stay with my family -- or leave to protect them from the dangers of my past?

WOW! Fantastic book!
This is the first book by Susan May Warren that I have ever read. I was captivated by the story before I even finished the prologue. By the time I was halfway through it I was checking to see if the library had some of her other books. I'm hooked and excited about the idea of reading everything she has written.

Awesome! That's the only way to describe this book. Five stars is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the stars this book deserves.
If you've read the other Deep Haven books, you'll enjoy getting to see prior friends. If you haven't, no worries. This book is stand-alone.

You Don’t Know Me is suspenseful, well-written, and indicative of what it means to stay true to your marriage, and your family. I’ve only read about 4 of Susan May Warren’s books, but this one is the best as of yet.
I’m practically in love with the town of Deep Haven series, even though it’s located in cold Minnesota with lots of snow! A community not without it’s problems, but a community that sticks together through tough times.

Maybe 3 and a half. I enjoyed the book....a story of a women in the witness protetion program, who has kept the secret from her husband and children. A bit of a "beach" read, and quite predictable, but I enjoyed the characters and the realistic way the author painted life in a small town...and how sometimes life experiences just "take over" and shape us in a way we really weren't looking for. Watching characters make tough decisions is always an interesting format, and this book does keep your i...more
Annalise has left her past behind her, living in Deep Haven for 20 years. In those years she'd married Nathan, a real estate agent and mayoral candidate. Together they built a life that includes three children, and many good friends. The perfect life, or so she thought, until Annalise notices someone from her past sitting in the local coffee shop; where she had just purchased a cup of coffee.

You Don’t Know Me is the sixth A Deep Haven Novel Susan May Warren has written over the years. It was much different than the first three, which were published years ago. The first three were good, but I can tell that Warren’s writing has been more finely honed since then. Which isn't at all surprising since she's a great encourager of aspiring authors like myself, going so far as to make an entire online community of Christian writers called My Book Therapy.
