One dreary night, there was a great knock at his door, on opening it, he discovered an aged hag, who begged him for shelter from the storm and a little to eat, but the vain prince turned her out into the storm, for he could gain nothing from her. On being turned away, the aged hag fuelled by anger, transformed into a beau

This book holds special memories to me as a child. My grandma used to read this book to me whenever I would see her, and I loved reading the book and then watching the movie. My grandma bought me a version that came along with a necklace, and I loved it so much! This book is great for kids because it teaches them that bueaty is not only skin deep but within. It has so much more to do with personality than anything else. My mom always said, "A person with a pretty face but an ugly soul is ugly no ...more

Beauty and the beast is one of my favorite traditional tales, it shows great pictures, combined with a great love story that is unexpected. This is a great read for children even though you might here a couple of "ewws" and "noo"'s out of the crowd once you read this story to them. This is a great read because children love books with animals in it, especially when they find out that they are talking animals.

A fierce, known to be unfriendly beast lives in a castle, but what most do not know is

In order for the beast to turn into a prince again, he must find true love to undo the spell before all the rose petals fell. Belle, the beauty, lived in a close by village who's father was captured by the beast, where in return Belle sacrifices and offers herself to the beast. A classic Disney fairy tale with a very important moral in there to teaches young children not to judge a person by their appearance.

Although the story is full of romance, singing, dancing and magic the book holds an underlying story line that children can access and make sense of in a child friendly way. Having grown up with this story and sharing with my own children I have experienced how children have an awareness of trying to see what the beast was wrong for doing when the enchantress knoc

Beauty and the beast is also a movie that most children have probably seen. The movie and the book go along and are both fantastic. I believe that if the children have seen the movie then they would be interested in the book. Beautiful pictures and moral behind the story.

Beauty and the Beast is a great story for a child with self confidence problems. It could also be a good book for a bully. It teaches you that it doesn't matter what people look like as long as you see the inside of people. How

Not only is this an awesome movie but it is also an awesome book. I highly reccomend children ages 4-10 to read this book. Even though I am 20, I love the way this book was written. There is a lot of pictures and details that make it seem as if you are actually in the novel and going through the experiences Bella and the Beast are going through. The pictures are big making it easy for the kids to see and pick out other details not mentioned in the story. A book like this teaches chidren that not ...more

Beauty and the beast is my all-time favorite fairy tale, ever. Belle is my favorite Disney princess and this book does a great job of telling the story. I always found this story so interesting how a beast would steal Belle in order to break a curse, but in the end fall in love with each other. This book makes me belief that there is truly beauty in everything. I think this book will teach kids not only that, but it will teach kids that everyone has a heart and everyone has feelings even if they ...more

Beauty and the Beast was the second fairy tale I have read. I thought it was magical because of the talking items. Also how they all help the Beast to fall in love. Also things do not appear as they seem. Also that true love can break any curse.

I would talk about things maybe scary when they really are not. Also not to judge a person on just their appearance and things are not always what they seem.

This book is about a rich merchant who had three daughters, though the two older were selfish and mean, although the youngest beauty was the kindest out of all of them. The merchant then became poor and went out and got lost in a storm then he saw a huge palace and went towards it as he got closer the door swung open and infront of him was a meal for one person so he sat down and ate then found a bed to sleep in.The next day he headed back for home on the way picking flowers for beauty until he h ...more

Beauty and the Beast is so magical. Just to imagine the talking teapot and the dancing spoons it keep you engaged. Belle is such beauty that she captures the beast heart. I can just imagine the two of them dancing forever.

This book can be used to teach a group session on different styles of dance such as the waltz. It could be place in dramatic play area.

Beauty and the Beast is always a great story to read or listen to! I really like this fairy tale, because it is different than all the others. Instead of prince charming coming to save Belle, she saved her prince charming. When an evil witch cast a spell on him turning him into a beast, Belle came and saved him from himself. I feel that this tale, unlike all of the rest of the disney princess tales, is tell its readers not to be superficial. This tale is spreading the message, that what is truly ...more

I love the Beauty and the Beast. I love Belle because she loves to read just like me also she is sweet and kind. I love the beast because he is strong and brave also has a very strong growl or howl. I love the palace characters because they are so cute and funny. I love the Rose. The rose is so beautiful and I love the story behind it all.

I have always had a tad bit of jealousy towards Beauty but I've never been able to understand where her head is at in this book! I realize beauty is more than skin deep but this fella is a freaking monster! I would be terrified for my life that he would just eat me whole as an appetizer if I ever gave him any lip. I guess that's why it is a fictional children's book but I think about things like that when I read children's books. The ending makes this book a true heart melt and will definitely r ...more

I loved this book! This is my favorite Disney story. There are so many lessons that we learn from the book. We learn that the only thing that matters is what is inside of us. Also the importance of family is taught. A good educational book that is fun to read. Kids will love the pictures and will love the happy ending.

The version we have is from the Storybook Collection, This version stays true to the cartoon, but it's not nearly as scary for the little ones. All the emotion is there to make it a very nice book to read to your little one.

Why five stars? I LOVE Beauty and the Beast! One of my childhood treasures (I used to sleep with this under my pillow). I still keep it in my little library. Belle is my most favourite Disney princess! Belle is an intelligent and sensible girl who's loves to read. She loves her father, kind to everyone and very beautiful! She is a fairy tale because personally I don't think beautiful people in the real world have many of Belle's qualities all together. Beauty and the Beast also have a great mora ...more

Beauty and the Beast is another Disney fairy tale that all children love. Although it seems like just a pointless fairy tale it has a good moral to the story. The "beast" had a beastly personality and was not the best person that he could be so in return he was turned into a beast. The only way that he would turn back into his normal handsome self was if someone fell in love with him. Of course he gets Belle to fall in love with him in the end and they live happily ever after, the moral of the s ...more

Beauty and the Beast by Disney Golden Books was one of my favourite books to read when I developed a high interest in reading at an early age of childhood.
It is an amazing book which can be read to kids during bedtime or anytime of the day. Parent should encourage their children to read and not sit on the internet and play online games all the time.
A small love story with a moral.
Best for warm cozy nights in the living room with your kids gathered around with hot chocolate in their hands, loo

I have to admit that I was quite afraid of the beast when I read this book. Of course I would not remember much considering the fact that I read it (with assistance from my mother) when I was about 6 years old. Nonetheless, I dressed as Belle one year for Halloween and I seriously loved her (and still do). If you have children, getting them every little golden book is a must, as is reading this story to them. I like how from an early age this book taught me that what's on the inside matters more ...more
