I bought this for someone else, but took part in the age-old tradition of reading it very carefully first. A good little overview of the history of comic book superheroes with, obviously, a specific focus. The author kind of keeps away from making any strong statements, but he brings up a lot of interesting information and possibilities, and certainly tells a side of comic book history that we don't often hear--after all, with the exception of Stan Lee, we still hardly ever hear about the lives ...more
