I bought this book while on a tea outing with my grandmother and cousins at "Tea Upon Chatsworth" in San Diego. It was delightful to read the history about different tearooms throughout America. Boy did it make me want to travel to each individual spot!--hopefully someday. I would have liked better quality pictures of the food because the photography wasn't too great all around. This oversized hardback certainly whets the appetite. About 20 tea rooms across the U.S. are featured. The photos are superb and the writer, Bruce Richardson, does a passable job of describing the olfactory and palate pleasures of good food made right. I've tried several of the included recipes and found some real winners! The recipe directions are clear and concise. The one down side? Finding some of the ingredients can be difficult if you don't live in the region of the recipe's origin.
