Hell hath no fury like a ticked-off dragon…

Ysolde de Bouchier has a lot on her plate, which isn't unusual considering her Light Dragon mate Baltic is still at odds with just about everyone, starting with his former guard Thala and her outlaw posse, right down to his dragon god father. Ysolde herself fairs no better, since the First Dragon has her in his sights as well, dem

Katie Macalister continues her humorous and witty "Light Dragon" series with this funny and romantic novel starring Ysolde de Bouchier and her dragon mate Baltic. Ysolde and Baltic were introduced in a previous novel of the series and continue their own special journey in this current story "Sparks Fly." Actually, it is more Ysolde's story. Ysolde has her hands full attempting to redeem her dragon mate's honor by fulfilling a request from Baltic's dragon-god father to right his past wrongs agai ...more
Ugh..... I love this author but this book might have finished off this series for me.

I struggled really hard to get into it and stay into it and to even enjoy myself. Sure there were funny lines though most felt REALLY forced.

And there were characters I liked yeah way too damn many of them.

There was a fairly well though out plot line ummmmm LINES, and by that I mean this book was WAY too busy.

I just wanted it to be over so I could move on to my new Amanda Ashley novel. You see I am that per

Katie M does it again! Sparks Fly reminded me exactly why I love her dragon series. Her characters top my all-time-favorites list! And it's not just the main characters--it's every single character in this series. I cannot get enough of them! But I must admit that I have a crush on Baltic--he's one seriously smokin' hot dragon!

The scene with Constantine and the blow-up sheep in fishnet stockings was the most hilarious scene I have ever read in my life. I had tears in my eyes and was laughing so

I’m just glad it’s over. I love the Dragon Series. The Aisling Grey and Silver Dragon books are so good. The Light Dragon’s however, are a hot mess. This series is dependent on Ysolde being ignorant. She doesn’t remember her original past, nor does she have clear memories of her life post resurrection. The First Dragon wants her to complete a task for him, but only speaks in riddles. How can someone solve a problem when they don’t even know what the problem is? They can’t, and I read three books ...more

1 1/2 stars - I struggled to finish this book because it was so boring. Feel free to skip everything up to page 250, just know that Ysolde made some deals with Drake and Constantine and you will be completely up to date without slogging through Ysolde losing her temper every 5 minutes and threatening everyone.

The last quarter of the book includes all the characters you love from all the dragon books, including Magoth, the ex-demon lord and Cyrene the ex-wyvern's mate naiad, but it becomes distra
Another fun Light Dragons book. Baltic is being his usual stubborn self. He doesn't feel that he needs to be part of the community of dragons, they are just fine on their own. He feels no need to lift the curse from the silver dragons. He does want to track down Thala and take care of that problem, and get on with restoring his castle. Ysolde is still trying to figure out how to fulfill the First Dragon's demands, especially since he won't tell her exactly what he wants done. She also needs to d ...more

I picked this book up because I wanted to finish the saga of the Light Dragons. Thirty pages into the book I remembered why I didn't like the Light Dragon series by Katie MacAlister. Determined to find out what the heck the First Dragon wanted Ysolde to do to redeem his son's honour, I skipped to the end and read the last two chapters and the epilogue. (I skimmed the epilogue.) Yes, I did find out what the First Dragon wanted and most of the other loose threads concerning Baltic and the silver/b ...more

I want to give this book a better rating, I really do, but find myself exceptionally irritated at Ysolde and the fact that she is a total wuss. I would use stronger language but children may read this. I have a five letter word in mind that would shock most mothers, mine not included!

Ysolde is a dragon dammit, she needs to start acting like one and stop kowtowing to her enemies. If my ex-husband stole my son and ransomed him for gold I would find my son, make sure her was safe, shift

Super Abschluss für Baltic und Ysolde! Als nächstes ist Kosyta dran.. na das kann was werden.
Did not finish. Why ? First I feel asleep 5 times while reading the first 100 pages, something I just don't do. Second, I just could not connect with all the happenings and characters. I like the characters, I like their world, I really enjoyed the Aisiling Grey series. This one just has too much going on for my reading taste. Third and finally I had a big problem with the ability of the characters to observe details of structures and joke while hiking to save her son ?!?!? So unbelievable and d ...more

Baltic is back, and the boy is either bats*** cray cray or cockier than ever, “we’ve spoken of this subject already,” he murmured against my lips, pulling me brazenly against his hips. “If you are good today, I will allow you to have your wanton way with me later.” I loved seeing the caring side of him, he'll give his woman almost anything, “Ysolde, if you do not stop attempting to seduce me in the hallway, I will take you right here,” Baltic said in a low voice filled with passion. “And while I ...more

I love the Aisling Grey and Silver Dragon series, yet the Light Dragons trilogy has been a real let down, and Sparks Fly was just another average book.

Didn't really like the main characters, and really just felt blah about the all three books. All I can say is thank God I bought it on special so it only cost me a couple of dollars. If I'd paid full price I would be very PO'd about it.

However, since I did love the Aisling Grey and Silver Dragon books, I will attempt the first in the newest trilog

I found it a little slow at the beginning but after the first chapter I really got into the story. I felt sorry for Aoife having to be put into a mental inst. She was not crazy just didnot know that dragons really exist. Once she met Kostya who is so different from his brother she had so many questions that he answered to only create more questions. She did not know what being a dragon mate contailed. She wanted to be one but she did not want to be one. The ring that she got at the beginning of ...more

Ysolde de Bouchier can't seem to catch a break. The First Dragon demands that she right past wrongs and informs her she's running out of time, her mate Baltic can't seem to get along with anyone, his former guard is out to kill them and she's still trying to wake her sleeping dragon. But none of that will matter when someone she loves his taken and Ysolde will do whatever it takes to get him back.

First off, if you haven't read this series from the beginning, don't start with this book. Katie Mac

I am so glad this was the last book in the Light Dragon series. Compared to the other books featuring the green and silver dragons by Katie MacAlister, the main characters just didn't grow on me as much. It dragged on longer than it needed to be. Ysolde aka Sullivan, has been resurrected twice, the last time by the First Dragon, a Demi-god who is the father to the entire dragon shifter race, and Baltic (formerly of the Black Dragon Sept) is his last son. The First Dragon has charged Ysolde with ...more

As with all of Katie MacAlister's books, I so lost myself in the reading of this tale!
While trying to solve the riddle of the First Dragon regarding her grump of a mate, lovely Ysolde is trying to get Baltic to join the local dragon weyr, save her precocious human son Brom from her murderous ex, find a missing phylactery to trade for a hidden light sword, redecorate a house that makes the Addams family house look like a mansion, keep a shade from wooing her and fighting another dragon in her en

I’m a big fan of Katie MacAlister and have been for years. She has such a unique writing style and humor (oh! nipples!) that makes each and every one of her books a delight. She’s been writing paranormal romances (along with other romance genres) for a while so even though this is only book three in this series you really need to start at the beginning. And if I was being a stickler I’d really send you back to the Ainsling Grey: Guardian series to start. Trust me, they are all worth it.

Decided to only review the last one in this the latest three dragon books by Ms MacAlister. She writes such fun and outrageous books that so fit her personality from what I can see from following her on Facebook. The female leads tend to be a little disaster prone and pushy. Her male leads are always totally devoted to their mates, completely stubborn and strong alpha males. They are fun and light hearted to read and I hope she continues her dragon series, after all we haven't had the black, blu ...more

Ysolde was tasked in the previous book with restoring Baltic's honor, but has no idea how to do it. She comes up with a plan to make everyone happy and hopefully fulfill the First Dragon's request. Thala, among others, stand in her way, but she will do what she has to to fix everything.

This book is like all other Katie MacAlister books. All her main female characters are fairly similar in personality and voice. For me, the time between books is long enough that I don't get
Ysolde is still trying to awaken her inner dragon as well as doing what the First Dragon expects her to do. Her visions are helpful in a "let's look into the past in short clips and see if you can guess where I'm going with this" sort of way. Humor abounds in this installment, as with all of Katie Mac's books, and had me cracking up - My husband has officially deemed me to be crazy! Lol.

The entire book is fabulous, however, my absolute favorite scene involves Ysolde, Constantine, a blow-up sheep

Number three in the Light Dragons series concludes the story of Ysolde and Baltic, which was actually started in the Silver Dragons series. Baltic, previous wyvern of the Black dragons until he was killed is now Wyvern of the Silver Dragons, since he was resurrected by his father the First Dragon. Ysolde, his mate has also been resurrected twice and still has a slew of tasks to complete. This is an extremely busy book and you have to have read the others in the series to understand what's going ...more

First off, I'm not fond of spreading a storyline over multiple books. For one, it's v. easy to forget things -both for me and the author. For the other... if I'm reading a romance, which presumably this is, I expect the couple's story to be concluded when it's obvious there's a HEA. I don't want to spend another 2 books muddling around in a bunch of...stuff... the author wants *this* couple to deal with before moving on to the next. In the case of the dragons, there's an overall story arc, the b ...more

What an ending to the Wyvern series... or is it? I know I'm not that up to date on all things MacAlister so it would be a pleasant surprise to find there will be more.

The Ysolde series, this final book included, were again refreshingly different from the other Wyvern's mate showing the Otherworld from another perspective. Unlike the previous book, that I was wondering about getting to a point, this one basically started by hitting the ground running and kept going. I had hoped it would, with the

My English review

Looking at the cover, I was convinced that this novel was a pure and simple paranormal romance story. But what a surprise, this is not the case at all. I must say that I was greatly surprised; I would have not even ranked it in this genre. It's rather a mix of urban fantasy and paranormal romance with a nice touch of humor. It’s for me the perfect genre. I didn’t know Katie Macalister before, but this book really made me want to learn more about the others no

I love the idea that dragons can turn into HOT men. When the Light Dragon novels first started I wasn't sold on the idea of the dreaded wyvern Baltic being the hero of the story, but in these last three novels he grew on me- maybe like mold, but hey it works. This novel concludes Ysolde de Bouchier and Baltic's story as she tries to accomplish The task dealt to her by the First Dragon (AKA Baltic's father and the creator of the dragon race). She has to redeem his honor without knowing a single i ...more

I came late to the series, starting on this 3rd installment, you could say I started reading at the end. I really believe is a must to read the previous books to understand and identify with some of the characters previously introduced in them. The book is light and fun to read, the characters are quirky and outlandish with a perfect balance to keep the book enjoyable.

For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. “And now?" I touched Baltic's cheek, drawing his attention away from tragic memories. "Is he being coldly mad now?"

"No. I thought at first he was, but I see now that the act of being raised as a shade has changed him, leached the madness out of him."

Behind us, present-day Constantine yelled, "You call me a douche canoe? I am not the douche canoe -- you are. No, you are more than that -- you are a douche speed-boat!"

"Most of the madness," Baltic qualified.”
