The little boy celebrated his bithday at the zoo. with all the animals. The animals provided the food, cake, music, and presents. Each animal had something to do in the party and was told to do it by the other animals. He made a wish blew out the candle, and they wished him happy birthday.
How can you dislike a book that leads your 2 year old to declare that her favorite animal is the "okapi"? Fun, joyful couplets describe a birthday party put forth by more than the usual farm scene of animals.
the art is so much fun, lots of different animal. the rhymes are clever. the book could be well used in a high school or college creative writing course.
I thought this is a cute simple book. My favorite is the last page, reminded me of my childhood. :)
It's a great big party! In this book you get to celebrat your birthday with all the animals at the zoo. The animals in the zoo really know how to through a great party. Grades pre-k- 3rd.
We read it every year for each birthday. You never get tired of the fun.
