Comments on the Story:
The stories are fun for kids because they add a lot of humor that children can understand. I think that this book makes fun of Ms. Piggy too much and that in some ways this might promote children to make fun of or laugh at children that are overweight. Nonetheless, I think that most kids would find the twists and turns in these short stories funny.

Recommended Uses for the Book:
I think that this is a good book to read at home. I also think that it might be best to read just

Picture Book: Cute picture book especially the part about Christmas. However, not much use for teaching seasons.
Four short stories, separated by seasons, describe how four animal friends spend their time together. The illustrations are colorful and very detailed. Each story focuses on one of the friends and points out what is distinctive about him or her as compared to the rest of the friends. The text is very simple and easy to understand. In a class it may be better to read it in sections as opposed to all at once.
My 4-year-old didn't like this book. The stories are fairly short but still didn't keep his attention. As a parent, I got tired of reading Master, Missy, Mistress, and Mister in front of Dog, Cat, Pig, and Frog.
