by Anna Currey
This lively collection of twenty-seven poems has something for lovers of animals great and small. Odes to elephants, poems about penguins, rhymes for roly-poly polar bears -- they're all here in this charmingly illustrated book. Young children will want to hear these playful animal poems again and again.

This book could be used for any elementary school grade level. The pictures are cute and help the reader know what is going on. Plus, it also teaches about many animals, such as the noises they make. For older grades, it could be used as a poetry lesson, looking at several different types of poetry. I like how the poems are too hard or long, and they are fun for kids to read or listen to.
