Josiah's new favourite book!
Our little Bertie is at it again. He is experimenting with all the ways and places that he can pass gas. He manages to offend everyone around him and stinks up the atmosphere while he is at it. If you can tolerate potty humour and a child that likes to put a bit of spiciness into life, well this is the book for you. His big revelation is that he is not the only one who does a 'downward burp." His cat, his mom, his dad, his sister, even his dog lets them go and they too smell vile. Vocabulary bui...more
Bertie can be a bit smelly. When he trumps, it makes his mum cross, embarrasses his dad, upsets his gran and offends his sister. But they all have a secret - and Bertie knows what it is. Such as when mum “lets off a poot” she disguises this with a cough. Granny always blames the cat and his sister Suzy waits until she thinks no one is listening and then lets out a trump that sounds like a brass band!

We all know that children can find the topic of trumping to be a source of endless amusement and...more

Bertie can be a bit smelly. When he trumps it makes his mum cross, embarrasses his dad, upsets his gran and offends his sister. But they all have a secret - and Bertie knows it!For instance 'when Mum lets off a poot, she coughs'. Granny blames the cat, sister Suzy waits until she thinks no one is listening and then she sounds liker a brass band. So, he concludes, 'everybody does it'. Roberts' vigorous, sketchy artwork is light-hearted, cleverly catching the humour of the situations observed by B...more

What's not to love, for young and old alike? ... It's a book about farts!! All kinds of farts and the people & pets that do them; Did you you know, for example, that they can go 'poot', 'parp', 'boff', 'trump', 'pip', 'frrp', 'prrrrp' and 'poooff'? That they range from a pongy little poot, or an eggy smelly boff, to a sneaky silent pip or a tremendous brass-band trump? They can be let rip, let off, covered up with a cough, blamed on the cat, or wafted about by the dog's tail? The moral of th...more

it was very funny and cool and there you no now everybody farts.

I got a lot of raised up eyebrows and frowns, plus grimaces from this one. I gambled when I bought it, because you wouldn't want to buy books that encourage bad behavior. But to tell you the truth, it's hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing and giggling. It's a book that you would want to read after a tensed up round with your kids, and to break the ice, before a dentist or first day of school. It just causes your kids to fall on the ground with fits of laughing. You as well.

This book is all about farting and passing gas. I have never been a big fan of potty humor, but this is kinda funny. The back of the book promises : "This book is a gas!" I guess the book delivers on the promise.
Not a book for the prudish -- but my little one can't stop giggling at all the farting, pooting, trumping, boffing, and whiffing going on in Bertie's family!
Os meus filhos adoram este livro, na versão portuguesa, em que o personagem se chama João :)

Crass, so hard to get through with out fall over laughing.
